I'm against abortion, though I don't really think it should be illegal. I don't really feel it's my place to force my interpretations or beliefs on others.

So, because I'm pro-life, pro-capital punishment, you think I'm a hypocrite? Which of my positions do you disagree with?
You're standing up for what you believe, not forcing anything on people. If that was the case no one could ever vote on anything because they'd be forcing their beliefs on others. In fact, that's WHY we vote, so that each person's stance can be accounted for.

I never said I wouldn't vote for someone I agree with on political issues, nor did I say no one should. I just don't think it's my place to force my religous beliefs on others.

I think taxes should be lower and will vote to get someone elected that agrees with me. That's my prerogative. Yet, I won't vote for someone because they are saying abortion is bad and we need to overturn roe v wade.

I just think that the religous right gets a little too carried away sometimes with cramming what they think is right down others throats. Just like I think some politicians get a little too carried away in cramming what they think is right down my throat.

I would call you pro-death.

(Even though I have the same views as mentioned yesterday, I am joking.)

i'd hate to break it to you...but taxes will never go down...too much money being made. if they cut programs, money just get shifted to other parts. if they give tax breaks, more than likely other parts of the tax code increases to make up for the difference.

politicians never give up money

what they need is for someone to go through the budget and be vicious...but neither candidate will do that...too many people are making too much money off of it.

Would a line item veto be a good tool for a President to have?

I agree, sadly. And, was just using taxes because it's pretty far away from being a religous issue.

A little levity for folks, from The Onion:
Joe Biden
Biggest Vulnerability:
By now, media attention may startle him

Political Drawback:
Always speaks his mind, a sometimes risky proposition since suffering aneurysm in 1998.

Political And Influential Reach:
So great that no fewer than 18 states think that he is their senator

If You Click "Meet Joe Biden" Link On joebiden.com:
Joe Biden appears at your door within 3 hours

Campaign Strategy:
Lose

Reason For Running:
in a rut, career-wise
Barack Obama
Issues:
Pro-hopes, also supports dreams

Favorite Way To Mollify Supporters:
Nodding solemnly while gripping podium

Political Experience:
(2005–) Junior Senator from Illinois. Working directly under Senior Senator Richard Durbin himself, duties included fact-checking and copyediting the 2006 highway appropriations amendment bill. Member, Illinois State Senate (1997-2004)

Odds Of Pop-Locking During Inauguration:
1 in 12

Personal Best For Getting Digits:
32 seconds

Difficulty Catching A Cab:
Moderate

Health Care:
Promises to reduce cost of health care by demanding private insurance companies stop liking astronomical profits.

Iraq War:
Will have American soldiers tell the Iraqi soldiers that they're just going out for some smokes, and then sneak back home to America.

Abortion:
Did some crazy [expletive] in the '80's, not going to lie.

Immigration:
Would refuse to allow Kenyans to come to America, father children, abandon children, attend Harvard PhD programs, and return to Kenya.

Climate:
Has an extensive five-year plan to charm climate back to normal temperatures.

Economy:
Will cut taxes, but occasionally hit up Oprah on behalf of treasury.

Foreign Affairs:
Guarantees improved relations with Kenya, Indonesia, Hawaii, and Illinois.
John McCain
Thoughts On Torture:
Doesn't support stuff he couldn't handle

Saturday Night Live Appearance:
Solid

Where He'd Be If Not Running For President:
Dead

Awards:
Distinguished Flying Cross (Vietnam War); Silver Star (World War II); Bronze Star (Crimean War)

Inspiring Example:
Co-sponsored a campaign finance act with Democrat Russ Feingold, the aim of which is to leave every campaigner as broke as McCain and Feingold

Health Care:
Supports universal health care for all current and former POWs.

Abortion:
Would strongly oppose any legislation that would allow fetuses to be removed from the womb, fed only watery rice porridge, and physically and mentally tortured for months on end.

Iraq War:
"The United States should no longer act as the world's police but instead as the world's stripper, dressed as the police."

Immigration:
Supports a path to legalization because Latinos are one of the few ethnic groups that don't appear in the senator's recurring nightmares.

Economy:
"Once we win this ideological war on radical Islamic extremism which will rage for thousands of years, then we will concentrate on the economy."

Foreign Affairs:
Will not meet with with leaders of unfriendly states, unless it's to give them a head's up that the United States is about to bomb them.

Climate:
Is against any kind of change at all.
