Jay fans for sure. They lead 8-1 in the bottom of the 5th. That's crazy.Pudgelewis wrote: ↑October 8 22, 10:23 pmJays fans or us feeling worse right now?
And hard to believe we’re 5-17 in the last 22 postseason games.

I think I’m leaning that way as that had to be a brutal thing to watch unfold and we’re a day removed from our debacle, but blowing game 1 in the 9th sure does leave a huge “if only” in my head. Of course if the offense wasn’t planning to show up it would’ve just delayed the inevitable.Magneto2.0 wrote: ↑October 8 22, 10:28 pmJay fans for sure. They lead 8-1 in the bottom of the 5th. Yeah, our loss yesterday was terrible, but blowing a 2-0 lead isn't really that crazy. It happens all the time in baseball. Blowing a 8-1 lead at any point is extremely rare, let alone after the 5th inning.Pudgelewis wrote: ↑October 8 22, 10:34 pmI think I’m leaning that way as that had to be a brutal thing to watch unfold and we’re a day removed from our debacle, but blowing game 1 in the 9th sure does leave a huge “if only” in my head. Ironically it happened to the Mariners against the Royals a few weeks ago. But crazier, because I believe it was like 11-2 or something.

This was not a team built to go to the World Series. Mo builds regular season teams who can win the central half the time.

I really thought with all the great moments this season that we were going to do something special. Couldn’t have been more wrong.

No particular anger on my part. The players that got them there went cold at the end of the season but to be upset after a 2022 like that would be foolish.
I'm now wondering how much MVP voters will take weigh late season slumps into account.

I keep going back to that National series, the team has never recovered or been the same since. They went from a team I thought was gonna really make a run to playing uninspiring baseball for 6 weeks.
They really need to add more professional bats. When Goldy and Arenado are slumping, this offense has nothing. We had to rely on 42 year old Pujols to save our bacon multiple times in September. That’s not good.

Probably a little but not enough for Machado to win. I also think Arenado and Goldy split votes. I ultimately think Goldschmidt edges it out.Famous Mortimer wrote: ↑October 9 22, 4:50 amNo particular anger on my part. I thought mvp voting took place before the playoffs, but that may have changed.
