Hit me up when this thread gets serious and gets to Bigfoot. Love me some sasquatch stories.
A large, out of focus monster is roaming the countryside and nobody cares!
The missing 411 stories/books/etc are so fascinating. Soooo much weird [expletive].
Omg I have tried to get everyone and their mother to watch those. Nobody ever does.
Suuuuuuper weird. Especially the Hunter one. I've watched it probably 5 times now. Still on Prime I think.
I don't love that he added the Ohio farm part because those people that happen to be UFOlogists claim they saw a UFO and basically the monster from Lost.
But the Bigfoot part of that is cool. The voice recording sends chills down my spine every time. I think the elk hunter that went 6 miles off course in The Crazies mountain range was probably either a faked death or a murder. The old man in the first story with the eye patch is a super weird story. Dude just disappeared surrounded by experienced outdoorsman and 100 yds off the road.
Fun human evolution fact: the 1st set of stone tools created by the primate genus homo were the only set of tools used for 600,000 years. The next set of tools were in use for 300,000 years before the next advancement. Technological innovation is exponential.
So . . . if Erich von Däniken is right that aliens built all the cool stuff in ancient history, but this expert is right that we're aliens, too, are we just the dumb aliens who needed the smart aliens to do everything, or did we need to give up some alien nookie or d to get the Easter Island statues and Stonehenge put up?
Also, was Stonehenge the best the aliens could do, or were they like construction grifters who put up part of the structure, got the nookie and d, then flew back to Alpha Centauri?

I'm beyond skeptical of this. It doesn't really make sense from DNA and fossil migration perspective.
…
This stuff is fun to think about, but it has no basis is reality. I'll also add there's a ton of clickbait "science" websites out there that have interesting headlines, but aren't any better then crap you find on facebook. Sorry to be that guy. Regardless, fun thread.

What are your current thoughts on The Simulation?
haha touche! I think it's a fun thing to talk about over drinks, etc. I think it is a possibility. The Simulation is a philosophical discussion and not a scientific one.

Is the distinction here that a hypothesis becomes philosophical rather than scientific if we decide that it’s unlikely we’ll be able to obtain evidence?
