I'm just sitting here and reflecting on this past year.

Thanks GRB. I have really enjoyed reading everyone's takes on everything from baseball, politics, religion, cancer, and cover songs. I've learned a lot about all of these subjects and all of yall have caused me to think about my own thoughts and actions.

I hope everyone has a safe New Year's Eve and we have a great 2018 with plenty of Cardinal wins.

i saw a commercial for dollar shave club recently. it's imagery includes a cat losing its hair and 2 cocunuts losing it's husk. clever way of acknowledging people shaving their genitals.

My morning started off with arguing with a Russian bot on Twitter. Clearly I’m winning 2018.

I'm going to Vegas on Wed. They legalized "the herb" out there so my wife and I have decided to partake. I've done it a few times in college and my wife never has. I'm on their dispensary websites where you can view their products. The amount of choices is bewildering. There are a ton of different strains and ways of taking it.

The guy who sits behind me wears a suit to work every day. I don't know what he does but if you sit in a cubicle, you probably don't need to be wearing a suit to the office every day. Before we got bought out, our CEOs didn't even wear suits to the office. Maybe our current CEO does but he's based in Germany. Heck, when I started here 20 years ago the CEO wore the same belt that was a woven fabric and had radiation warning symbols all around it every day. We're not that kind of place dude.

I'll never forget the day about six months ago that he was trying to listen to a podcast called "How To Be Awesome At Your Job" and kept starting it without his headphones plugged in. He seriously couldn't get that straight. It started blaring over his laptop speakers four times before he finally got the audio to play through his headphones.

If you haven't partaken in many years just be careful. When I got out here to Oregon I went into a dispensary, told them it had been 30 odd years and she said she hooked me up with the lowest THC level - 11%. I took 4 hits of that and was gobsmacked. Went straight to paranoid oh-my-god-im-gonna-die while driving. Stupid.

Anyway, it ain't your fathers weed they grow any more. Much more powerful than stuff from the 70's and 80's. FYI.

The last time I smoked was in Vegas and involved a trip to an extremely sketchy N Vegas apt complex to procure and an immediate anxiety attack after losing a quick grand at blackjack, chugging a McDonalds iced coffee at the Palms and going back to my hotel room early.

I think my takeaway is that I shouldn't have gambled, I should've planned something chill during. If I could do it again, I'd do the shark tank at Mandalay Bay and gone to the Wynn or Bellagio buffet after.

I would have to agree, as someone who smoked for a VERY long time....I wouldn't suggest doing that in Vegas unless you're prepared to cut the night short if things go south.

I wouldn't be so much worried about yourself, but if your wife has NEVER partaken I don't see things ending well.

Great advice everyone. I think I'm going to buy a disposable vape with a weaker strain. The advantage is you don't have to fool around with lighting it up (you can't in a casino) and it's easier on your lungs. The plan is to walk around for the night and slowly take a hit when if/when it makes sense. If things don't go well it's no big deal because we go to Vegas enough where one lost night isn't a huge bummer. Hopefully it'll be a fun life experience.
