The hotel is only two miles from home (closer than the office) and I don't think that my boss intended for me to be there the entire time when he had me added to the invite anyway. I don't see the sense in going through the effort of packing enough clothes for three days to stay at a hotel that is two miles from home when I can just sleep in my own bed each night. That's just a waste of money... but I don't know why I care since it isn't even my flipping money.
No, as long as you are participating in all of the activities other than sleeping at the hotel.
What about the midnight drunk swimming pool run?

I actually just got off of my one on one and I think I may take them up on the offer. When he mentioned it a few weeks ago it sounded like the idea was just for me to be available for a session or two here and there. Now he wants me there the entire three days so maybe I will stay there. He said he's fine with me getting a room, he's fine with me going home each night.

And even if I don't take them up on the room, there will still be booze drank on the company dime after the days end whether I stay at the hotel or not. The drunk midnight pool run sounds awesome... but I can still do that even if I don't stay. The rest of the group will be guests with room keys to get them in. Ubering home drunk after the pool run is always an option!

I'll see what I can do next week with regards to pictures.

I've decided to just take part in everything and then Uber home each night and Uber back to the hotel in the morning. That way I can partake in any after hours fun on the company dime and not have to even bother with an expense report.

It will be all the after work fun of travelling without any of the actual hassle of travelling itself like packing, getting felt up by TSA, being cramped on a plane for hours, etc. It's just a shame that there will be a ton of work involved too.

Y'all didn't know you were in the presence of greatness. I bowled a 229 last night.

My mom bowled a 260-something when she was 8 months pregnant with my brother... easily her best score

(not trying to diminish your greatness, zeus)

Don't think I can go much longer with my current GF.

The older I get the more I think we can make it work, but, it's not good.

I always hate to hear that people are unhappy in their current relationship. Seeing as I've only been in one real relationship that lasted more than two or three months, I'm not exactly the person anybody should listen to when it comes to advice.

Still, without knowing anything other than what was just posted I'd say that if you aren't happy then don't stay in the relationship thinking something will magically change. It almost certainly won't get better. We only have so long to live, do everything you can to be happy and get out of situations that don't make you happy.

I've been on quite a roller coaster of emotions myself with my partner of a couple years... broke up back in June, been on and off and up and down since then. It's hard to imagine us having a legitimate future together... but we love each other and love spending time with each other. I have had to put my foot down a few times to keep a healthy amount of distance between us while we work through our issues... both as individuals and as a relationship. I see progress being made, even though I know we have a looong way to go before we can be healthy together. But the progress, though slow, tells me to not write it off completely just yet.
