which gives me an idea for The Feedlot™ - a Taco Tuesday double all you can eat taco bar!
I know, cool story bro.

I miss Del Taco. When I lived in north county by the airport I would stop at Del Taco on Natural Bridge on the way home all the time for the cheap tacos. I think it was about the same, maybe a little more expensive. I think they had $0.39 tacos on Monday or something like that. Then they closed just like all of the Wendy's in the area closed. Jerks.wart57 wrote:Del Taco was doing a 3 for $1.00 taco Tuesday thing - $5.00 for 15 taco's - the last few were a real struggle - but I pulled through.tlombard wrote:I am not sure I've even done that with Jack In The Box tacos. My wife insists on them for pulled pork or brisket. they don't work there.tlombard wrote:I don't mind dollar rolls but that sandwich better not cost more than a dollar.Freed Roger wrote:i've got a problem with using a dollar roll to make a sandwich.
My mom used to make trays of ham or turkey sandwiches with cheese on dollar rolls for parties and such. I would destroy those things. They're just so easy to grab and eat that I wouldn't even realize how many I was going through until the tray was pretty much empty.

At first I read that as "pulled pork for breakfast" and I thought - wow your wife sounds awesome.Freed Roger wrote:My wife insists on them for pulled pork or brisket. they don't work there.tlombard wrote:I don't mind dollar rolls but that sandwich better not cost more than a dollar.Freed Roger wrote:i've got a problem with using a dollar roll to make a sandwich.

Been here with Mrs Freed everytime in Asheville NC - they have pulled pork Biscuit, brisket biscuit. awesome indeed. I haven't done this with a flight of gravy there yet. Don't let FatBulldog know that, or he may kick my ass.Gashouse wrote:At first I read that as "pulled pork for breakfast" and I thought - wow your wife sounds awesome.Freed Roger wrote:My wife insists on them for pulled pork or brisket. they don't work there.tlombard wrote:I don't mind dollar rolls but that sandwich better not cost more than a dollar.Freed Roger wrote:i've got a problem with using a dollar roll to make a sandwich.

Re: Random musings
For something as awesome as pulled pork or brisket, you need WAAAY more than can fit on a dollar roll. I agree. They definitely don't work for that, especially with pulled pork which is all loose and just going to fall out of the other side as soon as you take a bite. You'll basically end up eating a dollar roll with a little bit of bbq sauce on it and then just have to use a fork (or your hands) to eat all of the pork anyway.Freed Roger wrote:My wife insists on them for pulled pork or brisket. they don't work there.tlombard wrote:I don't mind dollar rolls but that sandwich better not cost more than a dollar.Freed Roger wrote:i've got a problem with using a dollar roll to make a sandwich.

Used to get that at the park concession stand after every Little League game. Nowadays you got to go with Crush for an orange soda. Unless you can get your hands on a Whistle.
