Yeah. I just kept expecting the Blues to finally score but not tonight. Try again Wed. I'm content that we pretty much dominated the game.Secret Weapon wrote:I cant believe that stupid ass goal is going to lose us this game, we have pretty much dominated the whole time. so frustrating.

its crazy how similar this year has been to last year's playoff.JCShutout wrote:Yeah. I just kept expecting the Blues to finally score but not tonight. Try again Wed. playing the defending stanley cup champions: check
steen wins the first game in OT: check
jackman has the game winner in the second game: check
blues dominate the third game but let up a soft goal and get shutout by a goalie in the third game: check
hopefully the trend doesn't continue

I'm not worried when up 2-1. If we play like this the rest of the series, we will be the first to 4. We will get bounces again.

It sucks that the goal we lost on was such a weak shot, but Crawford also played out of his mind. It's hard to think if we play that well again, and they play that poor again, that the same result happens.
Also very nice to see Ott smash Keith with a strong but clean hit.

We'd still be playing right now if Miller hadn't given up that softie. He knows it too.
But, I am encouraged. Aside from a few stretches, the Blues matched the Blackhawks intensity and level of execution.
Our defenseman really stepped up their game. I really like the way Petro is moving the puck. Polak is playing strong both defensively and offensively. He's really impressed me. Shattendeuces has been his normal stud self.

Strong game, we (good job us!) controlled the game for the vast majority of play, shut down their stretch passes, and limited their offensive zone time with reaaaaaly quick outs. Couldn't get the bounces, and unfortunately, missing Backes really neuters the first line.

Not having Backes is definitely a big deal for us. Ott tried to fill the role. He did well defensively, but doesn't have the same skills in front of the net as our captain.

Avalanche falls to Wild in OT; Tyson Barrie down with left leg injury
The Avs still lead the best-of-seven series 2-1, but now will be without Barrie for the next four to six weeks with a medial collateral ligament injury, coach Patrick Roy said afterward.
Cooke, whose lengthy rap sheet with the NHL has made him a controversial figure, is likely facing a suspension.

The Sobotka/Schwartz/Tarasenko line has been amazing and the 4th line has produced a ton of energy, but we are getting nothing out of the first and third lines. Sticking Steen with a hobbled Oshie and Steve Ott does him no favors.
