My attitude would change if StL would get another NBA franchise.

Dan, don't let all the yuppies in hawks gear walking around fool you either. It took a year after the first cup for Chicago to stop caring about the Hawks. It'll happen again. They'd trade 100 stanley cups for one Bears super bowl.

No, but I know things. I have a deep, nuanced understanding of the Chicago sports psyche. I am in no way over-generalizing or being an ignorant jerk towards all of my friends and family who barely knew hockey was a sport adults played for money 6 years ago but now all own Patrick Kane jerseys.

How about the Pacers?? Beat Miami and now are like 20-3. Clearly the best team in the Eastern conference. Not gonna say the best in the NBA, because we haven't played a lot of teams from the West.

I'm reserving judgment on that until we see them play in Miami. Even then, it's obvious the Heat are saving their energy for the playoffs (where the real test is).IndyCards13 wrote:How about the Pacers?? Beat Miami and now are like 20-3. I don't necessarily buy that. You really think that in the heat of a basketball game in December, the players are thinking "well, I'm going to just coast tonight, because I've got the playoffs coming up in 4 months"?
The Heat might make some adjustments before the end of the season and end up being better, but I don't think the Pacers are better because the Heat aren't trying.

I'm not sure the Pacers can beat the Heat in the playoffs, but I will say that they're by far the best equipped team to do so in the East since LeBron made the move South. I think it's going to come down to their relative health when the series starts.
