I have a bad feeling the Bulls will not live up to preseason predictions, which I'm sure will have then challenging for an NBA title with Rose back. Maybe I'm just jaded from Rose not coming back, but I wonder if he'll be where he needs to be to lead this team that far.

I'm excited for the draft, even if it's a bad year. And a lot of it has to do with that I have no idea who the Pelicans will take. I know whoever we get won't be as good as Anthony Davis, but it could be any of about six different guys.

I'm not disagreeing with the Del Negro comments ... but isn't he in some pretty rare company of coaches when you compare how many playoff teams he has had etc.. in his for x years of coaching?

I think they'll be fighting with Indiana for second best team in the east. I agree that I don't think they'll be a serious title threat anytime soon.

Don't know what to make of that since they are usually very quiet before the draft, but at the very least it sounds like Deng is in play. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the bench. Can they continue to find value in the bargain bin three years running?

I've followed various NBA forums the last decade or so on a vague par as I've done the same for Cardinals forums (ie as a casual lurker devoid of personal contributions), and there are few, if any, NBA coaches I can think of that have been more universally mocked for their ineptitude than Vinny Del Negro. I don't believe I've ever once seen any forum poster support the guy. Bulls fans loathed him, Clippers fans mock him, nation-wide fans laugh at his complete lack of offensive playset calling.

As per his playoff per coaching: He has coached teams that were in the playoffs (I won't say 'he coached teams to the playoffs') four times in five years. Three of those four lost in the first round, the other in the second. All four teams unequivocally made it to the playoffs due to roster skill, not his coaching.

Dude sucks.

I am excited for draft day. I know our beloved Bulls won't pull a trade, but I'm enjoying reading speculation about Deng for the #3+Okafor from the Wizards, which I think would be just dandy (and won't ever happen). Then again, I feel like Deng trades have come up the week before every draft since 2009 or so. Bulls stand pat and sign a promising player who will hardly play next year. Par for the course. Worked out with Gibson, Asik, and Butler. We'll see if Teague isn't god-awful next year to keep the streak alive.

From what I have read, the Pelicans really like Giannis Adetokunbo from Greece. He's the definition of a hyper-raw, draft and stash prospect, but there's no way they take him at 6.

I've been reading rumors about a possible deal with Dallas where the Pels take on Shawn Marion's salary to get the 13th pick as well, but with CP3 set to sign a max deal with the Clippers, I don't see why the Mavs do it.
