Re: 2013-2014 Blues (Hockey) Season
Ya, after re-reading the format, I see where you are right . I'd be ok with a Blues/Avs 1st round matchup. Seems like the Blues have the Avs number so far this season.
The playoff format says second round winners will be called divisional champion. That implies to me that the winner of the Hawks/Coyotes series would play the winner of the Blues/Avs series to determine Central Division Champ and the SJ/Minn winner would play the winner of the Anaheim/LAK series to determine the Western Division Champ.

The Blues didn't lose much ground despite a two-game losing streak. It helps that the Blackhawks have lost two in a row now, too.

The days of playing the Islanders being an automatic "L" are definitely over. I really like Tavares, though. What a talent.

back in the day young'uns the Blues went something like a decade without a win in the NY area.
Against the Islanders from 76-88 the Blues went 6-31-12. It was horrible. And the bulk of that was during the Blues 25 season run making the playoffs.

Seems like the Blues didn't really start winning in places like the Nassau Coliseum, MSG or the Spectrum (or whatever the new one is called) until the early 2000's.lukethedrifter wrote:like 25 years overStL Dan wrote:The days of playing the Islanders being an automatic "L" are definitely over. Meh....the Blues won that game againt the NYI 5-1. Bergie is struggling, and that gif sorta capsulizes his season, thus far. But, I think the only direction for him is up....after he fell down.
