Is Bergie's upper body injury still affecting him? Or is there more to this story? Because he's sleepwalking out there.

That was a not very fun west coast trip. Let's not go back until the playoffs.

Ya, that sucked big time. The only positive was the Blues battles back into the SJ and LA game instead of laying down and playing dead after allowing 4-0 and 3-0 leads, respectively. 6-3 and 3-2 shows they have some tummy.

That San Jose game was much better than the score. Going down 4-0 on a Brian Elliott crapfest in the 1st to turn it around and essentially win a 3-1 game with an empty-netter to finish was a great comeback.

Though I am glad we put 2 up to came back against LA, they outplayed us from the gun. I haven't checked, but I have to believe that the possession stats for that game are horrendous.

The Blues looked horrible against the LAK. They are inside our heads. It will suck if the Blues have to play the Kings in the 1st round playoffs again.

What's the situation for a Kings/Blues round 1? The Blues or Kings need to win their division and the other team needs to be the 8th place team in the conference? The new divisions goofed everything up.

From wiki:

The top three teams in each division earn automatic berths (6 teams per conference) and the next two teams in the conference earn wild-card spots.

The Divisional Playoffs pit the top ranked team in the conference against the lower ranked wild-card and the other division winner against the higher ranked wild-card (1 vs 8, 2 vs 7). The second and third place teams in each division play each other (3 vs 6, 4 vs 5; 3 vs 5, 4 vs 6; or 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6).

The first round winners will meet in the second round or Division Championship. The Western Conference (Pacific vs. Central) and Eastern Conference (Atlantic vs. Metropolitan) Finals will determine who faces off in the Stanley Cup Finals.[2]

Any ties in the standings are broken using the following protocols:

The fewer number of games played (only used during the season, as all teams will have played 82 games once the season is over).
The greater number of games won. Starting in the 2010-11 NHL season, shootout wins are not included in the tie-breaking procedure.
The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs.
The greater differential between goals for and against during the entire regular season.

For the first three rounds, the higher-seeded team has home-ice advantage (regardless of point record). In the Stanley Cup Final, it goes to the team with the better regular season record. The team with home-ice advantage hosts Games 1, 2, 5 and 7, while the opponent hosts Games 3, 4 and 6 (Games 5–7 are played "if necessary").

===================

If the playoffs started tonight, I think it would break down like this:

1. Chicago v WC2 Phoenix
2. San Jose v WC1 Minnesota
3. Anaheim v 6. Colorado
4. Kings v 5. Blues

I think you got the first two right, but the Ducks would play the Kings and the Blues would play the Avs because the 2nd and 3rd place teams in each division play each other.

From there, I don't know how it breaks down. I assume the winner of Ducks/Kings plays winner of Sharks/Wild and the winner of Blues/Avs plays winner of Hawks/Coyotes. That would make it a "Division Championship" round. So, I guess technically one of the wild card winners could win the "Division Championship" of a division it is not a part of.
