There is a similar issue going on in MO right now. I'm not sure how similar because I don't know either piece of legislation well but the distributors are trying to maintain the stranglehold on distributing spirits known as the Three Tier System in Missouri.

It was mentioned in the broadcast of St Louis on the Air yesterday that I cited earlier. You can check it out here.

Must be ready for spring, the taste for the dark scary beers has gone. I will always be on the hunt for good new beers, but have tapered back, thus the good ole Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is my affordable/accessible mainstay. Sierra Nevada's seasonal ale, Glissade is pretty good too -a smooth lager. And from Sam Adams - Nobel Pils has been quite tasty.

I don't know if I'm late to the party but I just heard that ABInbev bought Goose Island.

Based on reviews here and there, I have never been compelled to try Goose Island products. And I do not see that changing.

Is this the start of corporate beer going after the regionals?

Had this last week. Pretty tasty.
Spoiler'd for size (it's goose island golden ale).

IIRC, A-B tried to buy Goose Island about 5 years ago, but failed to come to an agreement. Pretty sure they've had a distributor agreement with them though (similar to what they had with Bass and some others).

Honker's is an OK product. My gf loves the 312. Most of their beers are alright, but nothing special (or bad, for that matter).

What's AB's status re Red Hook? Don't they own a large share?

I picture a bunch of Cub fans drinking it.

Tried Goose Island Matilda a few days ago. It's better than I expected, but nothing too exciting. Maybe like a fruitier Fat Tire with some distinct aromatics.
