Huge Rave: this will help many

When my late gf passed we used her estate to fund a scholarship for girls who wanted to go into STEM or AG. It's been great and so far it's helped quite a few young ladies. A few months ago her old boss passed away. They were very close and he was a mentor to her from early on in her professional career. Well today we found out that he left her scholarship fund a HUGE amount of money. Not sure what it will mean exactly but hopefully it means more women in our little neck of the woods getting better educations.

How about that? If Iowa allows women to continue to get educated of course. You never know.

Huge appreciation to you, IMA, your family and others involved with the foundation. What a great tribute to her life to create that kind of legacy.

It's what she would have wanted. She was the smartest person I've ever met. She had a PhD in Agribusiness. BS degrees in Applied Mathematics, and Agriculture. She was a fierce advocate for women in science and mentored a lot of young people. She saw everything three steps ahead of other people. Had she lived a full life I really believe she would have helped so many more people. She was always looking for a way. So that's where the scholarship fund comes in. It was one way that I, and her parents knew how to make sure she could still help raise people up even after her death.
