Conspiracy Theories!
How is it possible we don't have a conspiracy theory thread?
con·spir·a·cy the·o·ry
/kənˈspirəsē ˈTHiərē,ˈTHirē/
noun
a belief that some covert but influential organization is responsible for a circumstance or event.
No political talk unless both sides are bashed equally.
There are so many. This one hits on a ton of different areas. I love it even if some of the stuff they say wrt to Tesla is absurdly off the wall.
ETA: Gus Fring narrating it just makes it all the better. At first I thought it was Neil deGrasse Tyson but about 10 minutes in finally figured it out.

I personally control the banks, the media, hollywood, the gold market, and the Trilateral Commission. Just thought we should get that out of the way up front.

There’s no way that mattress stores aren’t laundering money. Always empty. Always next to three other ones. you need a new mattress like once a decade.

There was actually an NPR story a few years ago exploring this conspiracy theory, and it's fun. I won't give away the answer. It's worth reading.Superorganism wrote: ↑March 10 22, 10:46 amThere’s no way that mattress stores aren’t laundering money. Always empty. I think that ginger ale at the coffee shop is just Coke and Sprite mixed together.

Plus, a new mattress costs like $5k so everyone only buys them on like Memorial Day and Labor Day sale weekends. What is even happening in these stores the other 359 days of the year? It can't be good!Superorganism wrote: ↑March 10 22, 10:46 amThere’s no way that mattress stores aren’t laundering money. Always empty. You wouldn't believe how awesome the orgies are in these stores. Would recommend.
