people who leave voicemails at work
Sorry if this has been covered, but I loathe you people.
Long, wandering messages that could just be "call me when you get a chance". Or send me an email.
And why is it that every person who leaves a voicemail, has refused to set up their ID? So the 'envelope' for the message, instead of saying 'from Joe Smith', says 'from four, three, four.... seven, nine, six, two'.
If you are going to leave voicemails, at least update your own voicemail settings. You people suck.
/also could go for personal voicemail, but work is worse.

I stopped checking my work voice mails several years ago. Seems to be going ok.

I don't like the wandering message, but don't just say, "call me when you get a chance." Give me some idea as to how important it is, so I know if I need to get back to you right away or not. Example: "Hey Jane, please give me a call back concerning expense reports." or "Please call me back today" or "ASAP" or "no rush."

There was an admirable amount of venom in the original post.

My voicemails are automatically routed to my email inbox as a playable attachment. But frustratingly, if I want the blinking red "voicemail" light on my phone to turn off, I have to actually dial in to our phone voicemail system.Arthur Dent wrote:I stopped checking my work voice mails several years ago. Boooo blinking red light.

I die a little inside every time I come back to my desk and that little envelope is blinking. I resolve 95% of them with an email response and that's how they should have been to begin with.

If you have a phone system that doesn't sync when you've listened to your VM via email (ie., no blinking light), then I need to sell you a new phone system.heyzeus wrote:My voicemails are automatically routed to my email inbox as a playable attachment. PS - I think the coolest new feature is blue tooth capability on your office phone system that pairs with your cell phone. Allows you to pick up the call on either device as a second line position on your phone.

I dont really get phone calls. Sales people and my boss. That's 99%. I dont answer or pay attention to voice mails from either. IM and email. Thats mostly it.
