Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson played QB at NC State for 3 years and has a year of eligibility remaining which he can use this year since he graduated in 4 years and NC State released him from his scholarship because the coach wants someone else to start and Russell plays 2nd base for Colorado's A affiliate (Asheville?) and is hitting .226 and wants to play football again if he can get the Rockies to release him which could mean he'd have to repay his signing bonus and he talked to Gene Chizik and also to Bret Bielema and supposedly prefers Wisconsin to Auburn. Here is a highlight video with cheesy spaghetti western music. Wisconsin has a couple of decent quarterbacks but the better one is a little short (John Budmayr) so if Wilson chose Wisconsin he'd probably start if he could quit baseball soon.

Russell Wilson likely to announce decision before July 1

For those anxiously awaiting Russell Wilson’s decision between Wisconsin and Auburn — and football and baseball, for that matter — you’ll likely have a little longer wait based on the latest report.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, and citing a source close to the situation, the former North Carolina State quarterback is expected to make a decision on his sports future before the first of July. The paper reports that a decision could even come at some point this week.
Of course, it was reported a week ago yesterday that a decision from Wilson was “expected as early as Wednesday” of last week, and that hasn’t yet come to fruition.
Subsequent reports stated that Wilson was struggling with choosing between continuing his minor league baseball career or returning to college for one final season of football. If Wilson opts for the latter, it’s believed he’s leaning toward the Badgers over the Tigers. His most recent visit — he’s only take two since receiving his release from NCSU in late April, with AU being the other — was to Madison and it was described as a “grand slam” trip.
In today’s update, the State Journal also reports that there is no conflict with Wilson’s current employers, the MLB’s Colorado Rockies. It had previously been reported that the baseball club could look to recoup some/most of Wilson’s $250,00 signing bonus should he decide to go back to school and use his final year of football eligibility.
It remains to be seen what the club would do if Wilson actually went through with the jump and traded in a ball with stitches for one with laces.

Wisconsin reports say they feel confident. Auburn reports say they feel confident. Classic recruiting.

Quarterback derby: Monday was the first day reporters were allowed to watch the entire practice. In general, quarterback Russell Wilson appeared sharper and more efficient than Jon Budmayr.
Wilson and Budmayr rotated in with the No. 1 and No. 2 units.
Budmayr threw an interception during a 7-on-7 passing drill. Later during a third-down segment, Budmayr saw two passes nearly intercepted by linebacker Conor O’Neill and free safety Aaron Henry, in a span of three plays.
