RUGBY

Post by Hungary Jack »

Anyone here actually enjoy watching or playing rugby? They were showing a US collegiate 7s tournament on NBC on Saturday.

It was on at the bar. I didn't find it entertaining at all.

I like it more, now, since it was in capital letters.

I'd like to try to play rugby, but I have no interest in watching it on TV even if I knew what the hell was going on.

I played Rugby in highschool for about a month, until I got hurt. Ironically, I got hurt Greinke style playing basketball and not playing rugby. It was fun, but a little crazy.

I won't go out of my way to find it, but if it's on it definitely gets my attention. Very entertaining.

The US amateurs aren't nearly as advanced as the players from more traditional RUGBY nations. But I thought I saw a few guys from the tournament who play internationally.

Saw France play at Wales in the '02 Six Nations Cup. Very much fun. Only other RUGBY I've seen is the World Cup in '05 or so.

/why are we capitalizing RUGBY?

6 Nations must have been a lot of fun.

This year's RUGBY world cup is being played in New Zealand, and will be televised on NBC. I imagine the US collegiate 7s tournament was a bit of test marketing. Problem is the difference in quality of play between US amateurs and RWC is greater than the talent disparity between Skip Schumaker and Chase Utley--raised to the power of ten.
