water in the basement
after 2 years in my house, it's just decided that every time
it rains that my basement bathroom will flood..
i don't find it amusing.

Water finds the lowest point.
I wish you luck in finding the source of the leak.

Well, that's one source. But if you don't have water pooling at your house outside, that may not be it. It could be a crack in the foundation somewhere allowing water to enter in. Is your basement finished?omaha_red wrote:where the hell do i look? i read to build up soil at an angle awaymikechamp wrote:Water finds the lowest point.

Re: water in the basement
That's true, but that's something that's done from the beginning when you're doing grading. You can do that now, but water is still going to percolate through the soil and down along the outside of the wall.
Is the water on the floor only? Or do you see a water stain anywhere on the wall (or ceiling)? (I'm assuming you've drywalled the bathroom.)
Also, do you know if the builder waterproofed or damproofed (they're not the same thing) the exterior of the basement walls?

Were water leaks disclosed by the seller when you bought the house?

Happens to us everytime it rains. Our basement is not finished but it's a pain in the ass. Anyone have an extra 10 grand laying around so we can hire that Helitech company that advertises during the games

I do, and I'll happily give it to you. However, are you philosophicaly opposed to accepting money from a stranger who earned that money via man-whoring? Every time you look at your dry basement, are you going to think, "But Popeye_Card had to sleep with thousands of down-on-their-luck women in order for me to keep my knick-knacks dry"?Molly wrote:Anyone have an extra 10 grand laying around so we can hire that Helitech company that advertises during the games
