Drew was away from the team while his 17-month-old son underwent surgery, but could be ready to return to the lineup.

Drew is healthy, but his 17-month-old son reportedly underwent surgery recently and Drew has been away from the team to be with him.

J.D. Drew is expected to miss a second game Wednesday after his son underwent an unspecified surgery.
If Drew's son has been having health problems this year, it might explain some of J.D.'s struggles. Wily Mo Pena is in the lineup again tonight.
Should Drew need to miss a few more days, the Red Sox could place him on bereavement leave and call up Jacoby Ellsbury.
