Damnit. I was thinking about how awesome it would have been to be arrested for that. I know during game 5/4 of the World Series in 2006, my pop had a ticket he had scalped during game 4/5 when the weather was [expletive] and gave to my bro. Before 5/4 he was trying to find another ticket and noticed a guy in cuffs sitting next to some cops near the entrance. As fate would have it, dad didn't find a ticket and went to Shannons. The guy in cuffs ended up next to him so the question was asked: What happened. The guy said that he and his buddies didn't have tickets so they just tried to walk in. He was caught, his two friends snuck in. The guys boss walked buy while he was in cuffs and asked what happened so he told him. During the game the guy got a text from his boss that he couldn't stop laughing and didn't blame him. [expletive] like that brings people together even if it is 'wrong'

That story comes via a complete stranger to a random guy (my pop) while both were waiting/hoping/praying for the same thing: Their loved ones to see a WS Championship and eventually walk out of the stadium to meet up.

build a program that is expected to win these games year over year and that part goes away. build a team that rules the big 12-2 and the upset is when they lose, not when they win. Tomorrow is the next step... A convincing win over NU in Lincoln, even just a win since it is on the road, in a year that they were not expected to contend and the pretender label disappears. Win out at least in the regular season, compete in both the big 12 title game and bowl game winning one or both, rank high in the final season and then in preseason polls next year (based on youth of team)...

Suddenly you are a national power and you are supposed to beat the OU's and UT's at home...

I think it was Herbstreit that said the other day that a win over NU and he is a believer.

I get the feeling that most Mizzou fans feel this way, too. I know I do. I mean... I think they're a very good team either way. But if they beat Nebraska, I'll have a lot easier time feeling like they shouldn't lose to K-State or Iowa St., as weird as that sounds. Or that they don't stick out like a turd in a punchbowl in the top 10.

I know my friend who's a diehard OU fan is a believer. Twice during that game, he texted me to express surprise at how very good Mizzou looked.

I do too. As a Mizzou fan, I feel like a cub fan would feel. Can't quite get over the hump. This is the hump. This game validates the OU game. Lose this game and OU was an upset. Win this game and we are talking a legitimate top 5 team this year. But growing up with Mizzou, I don't remember the second big win in back to back weeks.

If I have to hear another Husker fan call themselves "classy" (and I hear plenty of it in the Bugeater state), I am going to fully accept myself as classless and shove their head in a toilet.
