Missouri looks really good right now. I'll be surprised if they lose any Big XII games.

You can come up with reasons to be terrified with every game left on the schedule, but there's really 3 to truly be concerned about. @Nebraska, @Texas Tech, and v. Kansas. The other two are North schools that Mizzou has steamrolled for about 4 years in a row now, and given the results of the season there's not a lot of reason to think they can beat Mizzou straight up(ignoring, of course, the inherent risk of losing any game that hasn't yet been played). Kansas worries me less each week, although that game will be their Super Bowl and is always closer than it should be. The good part for Mizzou is that the schedule is in descending order of difficulty from now until the end of the regular season. The bad news for fans is that with each win there's even more of a nervous "please don't screw this up" sentiment building.

Boy do I hope they just lay it to Nebraska. If they punch them in the mouth early and go up like 10-0 or something, I think the deficit plus the not-so-home-friendly Husker crowd will doom the fighting Pelinis.

Do you guys think Blaine Gabbert is the best QB of the Pinkel era? The Oklahoma defense didn't get much pressure on Gabbert, but the few times they did I think he responded quite well. He rolled out and caught a few open guys on the inside, he scrambled a few times for good yardage, and all around didn't freak out about a 300 pound lineman wanting to kill him.

Chase Daniel was a great QB, but I think part of the reason the team struggled with some of the more elite teams was that he had a bit more trouble handling rushes and pressure than it seems Gabbert does.

Not even close. Chaser was the best by far. Gabbert is the most talented, also by far. And he was best suited to take it to OU. OU is the only team Chase really ever had a problem with.

Hell, I'm not even sure that- at the same age and experience level- Gabbert is the best-suited QB for the Mizzou spread on their roster right now. (given age and experience, it's not close... but come Franklin's JR. year, we'll see)

Chase didn't have the arm to torch defenses like OU like Gabbert is able to. Even when Gabbert rolls right, he can still put the ball on the left sideline 30 yards downfield. That said, if Chase had an offensive line like Blaine does this year, you can bet he would've done better than 0 for 4 against the Sooners with the weapons he had at his disposal.

Not having followed Missouri as closely as some of you, is there any chance at all that Gabbert opts out after this year?

Unless he makes some big strides the rest of this year, I think he'd be foolish if he did. He's still got to work on his pocket presence (particularly not getting happy feet at the first sign of a rush), and some of his footwork. Occasionally he relies on his arm strength more than he should, which messes up his mechanics and hurts his accuracy, but if he can continue to fix those problems (he looks like he's getting better to me), then he'll be successful in the NFL.

Gabbert is by far the best QB Mizzou has had. At least in Pinkel's era.
The dude has a cannon, he's accurate, he's fast. Sorry, Daniel couldn't touch Gabbert in anything but charisma and leadership.
Gabbert will come back, as he'll probably be rated in the 3rd-5th best QB range for the draft this year. But would likely be #1 next year.
