I asked my doc (part of the Mercy system in STL) about a green card for pain management. She said Mercy did not allow them to order them. I don't know if that's true or if she just didn't want to do it and shifted blame so I wouldn't push it.
That's true about Mercy. You can go to any dispensary and they will help you get your green card.
Good to know. I am thinking about it seriously. I don't know that I want to start smoking though, and I have heard that edibles/gummies are more expensive. Plus the whole delayed time to feeling it... I am just still contemplating at this point.

When I asked my doc about it, my shoulder impingement was killing me and I wasn't sleeping. I'm doing much better with that since I got a bursa injection about 3 weeks ago. So it's not as urgent now.

I think they're expensive because the supply chains aren't there yet. There has to come a point when the legal dispensaries have to start competing on price, though. I'm looking forward to edibles being a reasonable price too.

With IL being full legalisation, I wonder if prices on that side of the river are better?

The edibles aren't really any more expensive than vape or flower...

Let some of the experienced stoners chime in. But the high with edibles is definitely different. For me it's unpleasant. Body highs give me sensations like migraine aura--with the spectral visual phenomenon and everything. At the same time, maybe a body high would suit your situation well. My point is, and I shouldn't have poisoned the well here, smoking and eating are different.

I have a vape now. Hardly ever use it, which is why it makes sense for me. Also clean and easy to sneak a puff here or there. Still trying to dial in getting high with consistently good results.

I was never a weed kid. I smoked it maybe a half dozen times before I turned 30. In my early 30's, my body started changing. And my brain, I guess. I started to struggle falling asleep, but I have to get up for work early, so I'd wake up like a zombie with 4 hours of sleep every morning, and immediately comfort myself with coffee and an unhealthy drive thru breakfast. That lead to weight gain, plummeting energy levels, and an unhealthy cycle that just kept getting worse. When I was around 33 I took a vacation in Washington and decided to hit up a dispensary, because I had been told by people I trust that weed would really help with my sleep.

That changed my life because it helped with my sleep so much that I immediately got my medical card. Increased sleep lead to more energy to make healthy, controlled choices over my behavior, especially early in the day. That lead to having more energy to start exercising. That was hard at first, after being essentially sedentary for more than 10 years. About a month in, I turned the corner and my energy levels skyrocketed. Now, in the evenings when I have a hard time shutting my brain off, I smoke and the noise in my very active brain decreases to a gentle hum. I've lost 50 pounds, I have more energy than I did in my mid-20's, I look better and feel better, my confidence is increased and I'm a much less miserable, open and happy person with more energy and love to invest in my life and the people I care about. I don't drink alcohol anymore, not because I had an unhealthy relationship to it, but because the only thing I needed it for was to quiet my brain and relax. Weed does that with zero additional calories, sugar, or hangover to mess up my metabolism and energy levels the next day. I have no use for alcohol, unless I'm hanging out with people at a bar or restaurant. Weed has made me a much healthier, happier, and more productive person. I love it. I'm extremely grateful for it.

Happy 4/20!

Happy 4/20 everyone! Please be aware that this one-hit wonder from the early ‘aughts has some sexually explicit language. I’m not sure why @CardsofSTL didn’t include this in his Xlist playlist.

36%.
Just now saw this. That is downright gaseous.

For those who don't know, "normal" thc percentage today is around 18%. Normal thc percentage in the 60's and 70's was around 3%.

Be careful out there, folks. Take baby steps if you're getting back into weed or into weed for the first time. If you smoke what smith here smoked, you will not enjoy yourself. That is a strain for professionals only.

Radley you were obviously too enraptured by the Bad Touch to remember that this was track #1 on the X List
