I don't expect much of a playoff run, so I won't be nearly as disappointed if they have an early exit in the playoffs. Hell, I'm not convinced they are going to continue to play at the level they're at right now. Granted, they do look like a different team w/ Yeo behind the bench.
I know the current level of play isn't sustainable. At the same time, you couldn't have a more dominant road trip if you tried. We're out of wild card territory now.

All that said, if someone offers a 1st and a young roster player or good prospect for Shattenkirk, I'm still doing it.
Definitely, although I don't think the Blues would get near that for him. A team giving up their 1st round pick and a cheap young player for a rental that's going to require big bucks to re-sign.

I'm just not sure if the ownership wants to trade off one of the top scoring defensemen in the league during a playoff push.....it will definitely piss off the rest of the team (if they don't get something to replace his productivity), and I don't think a lot of fans (at least not ones that don't follow the team very closely) will be real happy either if the Blues trade away the likes of Shattenkirk at the deadline w/o getting a name they recognize in return (which won't happen because they have no cap room to take on salary next year, and why trade Shattenkirk just to get a rental player in return).

It's a tough situation, because I really don't think they'll stand up to the big boys in the NHL this season come Stanley Cup playoff time.

I think we'll get that return or similar for Shatty. That seems to be the going rate for top flight players, even rentals. The 1st rounder would be a late 1st anyway.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Shatty won't get moved. No reason other than there doesn't seem to be much chatter about it.

Shattenkirk nixed a trade with a long term extension. Rutherford says it was to an Eastern Conference team, likely the Lightning.

It just means he's getting traded as a rental. Ron freaking Hainsey brought back a 2nd, so a 1st and a prospect is still what should be expected.

If this was something I could bet on, i'd still bet a lot he does not get moved...Army is just bad at these types of deals/lets people walk for nothing.

he's not going to get the value he thinks shatty is worth, so he'll just hold onto him and see how far we go in the playoffs (not very far IMO). Then he walks as a FA, and we get nothing.

The time to trade him was in the offseason/before the draft, but DA overvalued him again.

I hope i'm wrong/we need to get something for him, as i don't believe this team has a prayer in the playoffs with or without shatty...but i'm betting no deal gets done.

I just have a hard time thinking we get nothing for Shatty. I wish we could've got the Edmonton deal done but whatever. Still think someone will offer a first and a prospect. Really hope it's for futures. An old fashioned hockey trade would be the worst.

Have to like that, no?

Less than 4 mil per season...been hurt a lot/has held him back. But has looked very good this year. I've never been the biggest fan, but I see this as a pretty damn good deal.
