I expect some kind of sports to be played; what it looks like; I don't know.

What are you talking about?? They already are... in Nicaragua!

From the NY Times:

Looking for a Full Sports Calendar? Try Nicaragua

Baseball and soccer leagues carry on in Nicaragua, whose public health officials report relatively few coronavirus cases. Many others have doubts.

Bursting the Bubble: Why Sports Aren't Coming Back Soon
The NBA, NFL and MLB are dreaming up ways to play amid a pandemic, with talk of isolating players in Arizona or Las Vegas or maybe on the moon. It all sounds great, until you talk to people who actually know science.

All the more reason for them to do this

I'm not following. Start the season to own an SI writer?
huh?
I didn't follow why an article explaining all the risks of empty ballpark baseball during a pandemic is all the more reason for them to do "this" - which I assume "this" is empty stadium baseball

I saw that SI article yesterday, and I thought the health expert they were quoting was being a little bit of a scaremonger. The standard that we can only restart this business if every player and supporting staff is quarantined and at zero risk of infection isn't a standard we'd use for other business, nor is it one that we should be using since after months of lockdown you get into very real socioeconomic human consequences. Yes you need to be careful about it, the health pros are always going to be more cautious, and I'm sure there are elements of various proposals that require tweaking, but the hypotheticals in that article didn't resonate. There's also the 'you have to stay shut down because if you try this you might have to shut down again' anti-logic.

That was a link to another thread about having a test season. The point being that since there is no way to have a credible baseball season; if they do any kind of playing; they should make it a laboratory type season where they try out different rules.

So you're proposing turning MLB into the (edit) Atlantic League for a season?

My rationale was explained in that other thread; but never mind.

Probably better than nothing! I'm going to have to give this a shot. Thanks!
