I'd be against Oquendo. I'd prefer someone with managerial experience.

Just because you have experience doesnt exactly mean you would be better suited to be a manager. He has been around LaRussa long enough to learn the ropes.

Oquendo has never run a team. I'd prefer if he doesn't get on-the-job training at the big-league level with my favorite team.

Except for some winter ball clubs, and the Puerto Rico team in the WBC, and the Cards minor league team in New Jersey.

Everybody has to get a start or there would never be a manager. Besides Jose does have manager experience World Baseball Classic. He also has been on a coaching staff for how many years now? Also when TLR is gone or ejected Jose gets the nod.
