I'd imagine the contract doesn't get any better with the bending over that Texas put on them, but I don't know that for sure.Transmogrified Tiger wrote:The Big 12 TV contract is....less than favorable. Mizzou/McNeese St and Mizzou/SDSU didn't make the cut for the limited spots for FSN/Versus and ESPN/ABC, so they went to PPV. This week's game has no TV at all, which means it might be available to stream on Mizzou All-Access(which is a subscription service, but better than $40 PPV).robbotis wrote:Why are Mizzou games only available on pay per view?
Horrible.
I can watch every single Big Ten game yet can't find a ranked team on the tube?

It really can't get much worse. In fact, if they can keep a similar amount of slots in the new contract with fewer teams, it might be a big win for fans of the remaining North schools, who really get the shaft in the current set up.phins wrote:I'd imagine the contract doesn't get any better with the bending over that Texas put on them, but I don't know that for sure.Transmogrified Tiger wrote:The Big 12 TV contract is....less than favorable. Re: Mizzou football 2010
I watched Berkstresser play tonight. He could be a good one. Reminds me a little of Gabbert without quite as much raw talent. He plays in the same offense as Mizzou so that's a plus. Good zip/accuracy/decision making on short throws. What impressed me most was his attitude and toughness. His team was way overmatched and got down early by 3 touchdowns. He was getting hit or had two or three guys in his face every single play and he still never gave up and ended up shredding one of the best teams in the state pretty good even though he lost. He didn't look so hot on the few deep balls he threw but like I said he had zero time to throw.
I wish Mizzou was more attractive to running backs. Darrian Miller was pretty damn impressive for the other team (Blue Springs), but apparently Mizzou isn't even on his radar.

I think that's as much the numbers game as it is style of play. Mizzou's got 3 RB's they like right now that are a Junior, Sophomore, and true Freshman, plus another Freshman that's gotten a couple carries and is returning kicks. If Miller wants to play right away it's not going to be here, although Mizzou's offense can definitely help steer good RBs to other schools(see Wingo, Ronnie).cardsfansince82 wrote:I wish Mizzou was more attractive to running backs. 21-0 Miz in the 2nd. Scored 8 seconds in on a turnover, then 2 rushing TD.

28-3 now. Josey has a 27 (or 28?) yarder, Lawrence has a 39 yarder, and Moore has a 27 or 28 yarder. Gabbert only has 7 passing attempts (and has connected on 6). You've gotta love the explosiveness of the ground game regardless of the competition. It's been lacking for so long. Even Temple and Washington seemed more reliable than explosive (I could be wrong there; I'm going off of memory).

Gabbert scores on a QB keeper (from under center!). 44-3.

I've seen some talk on Powermizzou that Miller could end up getting an offer in the end.Transmogrified Tiger wrote:I think that's as much the numbers game as it is style of play. Re: Mizzou football 2010
Looks like the Big XII came out with tentative schedules for conference play next year and then with a static schedule from 2013 on with teams rotating venues from year to year. If this holds, I'm not a fan of Mizzou opening up conference play with OU every year.
Edit: On second thought maybe they'll get a chance to get them before they get in synch and can steal a game here and there.

There's not really any "good" time to play OU. First week is as good as any since that gives you plenty of time the rest of the way to build your resume back up. I like that there's a good gap between playing OU and playing Texas with lots of winnable games in between.albertmvpujols wrote:Looks like the Big XII came out with tentative schedules for conference play next year and then with a static schedule from 2013 on with teams rotating venues from year to year.
