Does anyone know what Carp was saying when they cut to him saying "now we are world [expletive] champions" then cut away quickly? I laughed my ass off.

I am happy for McGwire. He could have just faded away since the embarrasing congessional hearing, but chose to come back, admit use, and go through the firestorm. Must feel great to all be worth it.
I was thinking about how he doesn't have to do what he does, but he does it becasue he loves the game. Just
standing there, taking it all in.

You'd think they could invest in reusable water bottles.

It's much easier to recycle paper than plastic.

I know Big Mac gets a lot of crap and people turned on him, but I love him. Yeah the 98 is probably tainted, but that doesn't change the awesome moments and excitement. Those memories are forever. I went off to college right after that and while I was at college my Grandmother got alzhiemers and by the time I came back home she didn't know who I was any more, but in 98 I watched 60, 61, and that last game of the season with my parents, grandparents and cousins. My grandmother was a huge Cards fan and that season was special to her and all of us. I'll never forget those moments with my family and if Big Mac had to take steroids to give me those moments then that's fine by me.

McGwire gets a lot of flack by many, but even though it was slightly tainted, I wouldn't be a Cardinal fan if not for the excitement he provided when we got him. So he'll always hold a place in my Cardinal fan heart and I'm happy he's a part of the team and got to be there for that incredible moment.

Question: Does Ryan Franklin get a WS ring?

He probably will, but I almost hope he doesn't. Is that bad?

Yes. Sidney Ponson got one in 2006. It's customary to give one to any player who played for the team the year they won the World Series.

Give him a ring. I was glad to see him gone but I still have a soft spot for him for what he gave the Cards in years past and the fact he never shied away from the ball even after TLR refused to see what was obvious to everyone else.

Hell, I'd even invite him to the celebration today for services rendered.
