Random stuff I've come across:

Illinois WR Jarred Fayson 6-0, 215, Sr., Tampa, Fla.
Bench-presses 405 pounds, squats 500 pounds, power cleans 352 pounds
Runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds
Has just four percent body fat

Mizzou's Chris Freeman has a 28 inch vertical jump. Big [expletive] deal right? Except he's an offensive tackle listed at 6' 8" 350 pounds. This kid could have NFL talent with that body.

Old news....WR Jarrell Jackson breaks bone in wrist yesterday....will miss rest of camp and first two games of season...TJ Moe is expected to win the starting slot position vacated by JJ.

I'm a little concerned by this year's receiving corps.

I'm conflicted by the WR's. There's no beast like they've had with Maclin/Coffman and then Alexander. But they seem awfully deep at the position, even with the injury to Jackson. I think they're even deeper there than they've been in years past. Most of the accounts I'm reading of the practices so far indicate that some of the freshman are looking like contributors and that TJ Moe has taken some steps forward. That's in addition to Jackson (who's supposed to only miss the first game or two) and Kemp and Rolandis Woodland. The TE's or whatever they're called in the Mizzou offense- Egnew and Andrew Jones- should be rock solid.

There is an insane amount of depth in the WR corps. Jackson's injury may be a blessing in disguise because it'll give some more in-game snaps to help determine which of the 8 guys fighting for 1.5 spots are worthy of playing time, and in a lower stress environment since Mizzou is favored in it's first 4 games at least.

Isn't TJ Moe expected to start? And he's basically an "athlete" as far as position goes. Anyway, I'm a Mizzou fan not a Texas or OU fan so I should expect problems.

Yeah, Moe looks like he's starting in the slot. Dave Matter insinuated that Moe could lead the Big 12 in receptions with as much as Gabbert has been targeting him in camp.

The receivers will be fine. They don't have big time talent but they do have quality depth and there won't be much drop off when there are substitutions or injuries. Jackson is the best candidate to be a big play guy so they need him back at some point. JL: I still think TE will be the weakest link on offense. Jones has never really impressed me, but I suppose he could have taken some steps forward this offseason. I've read some good things about Egnew, but I always take camp stories in any sport with a grain of salt. After all, I just read several quotes about how the secondary will have zero problems with confidence this year.

Sounds like Kemp is on his way down the depth chart. He didn't catch a single ball in the scrimmage and I think the water boy caught 3 for 25 yards.
