The Rams' WRs killed them in this game. They are the reason Bradford, with no concerns about his arm strength, was limited all season to a possession passing game. You can't take shots down the field when they're just going to fall between your scrub receivers' arms.

They fluked into contention this year, but simple regression is going to improve the quality of the conference next season, and this is not a playoff team with Bradford caged up. You think Donnie Avery is a #1 WR, I don't. Even when healthy he hasn't been very good. With an A.J. Green (Seriously, Joce can spare one measly joint for the effort) in the fold, Avery can move into the slot and Danario Alexander can spend a year studying what a football looks like so he knows to catch it when it's thrown at him.

Steven Jackson goes down next year, this team isn't winning. If Steven Jackson stays healthy next year but still has nothing more than a possession passing game to take pressure off him, well 1) he isn't going to stay healthy, and 2) he's going to have another mediocre season.

Avery, Clayton, Amendola are all second class receivers. Regardless of if they come back, there's still no top tier WR. If they don't draft a WR at #14 its gonna be a long ride to the #47 pick. They need a receiver with speed (who can catch), and no one knows how much speed Avery will retain after his surgery. You either have to take a WR with your first rounder in this draft, or be prepared to use it in next years draft and no one knows whether thats gonna be a #5 pick or #21. Thus, draft a WR, OLB, DE, CB. Sign Owen Daniels at TE. If Shurmur is going to be conservative get him a good TE. I don't think you have to worry about Jackson for another two years. He might regress a little in 2012, but I don't think he'll fall off a cliff like a speedy back. Get an aged RB off the FA list to backup Jackson for the next two years until the 2013 draft.

The only way I'd be happy if the Rams don't draft a WR would be if they sign one(Sidney Rice and Vincent Jackson, for example).

The Rams don't need a TE. They were getting average production from 3 TEs(Fells, Michael H. and Bajema). Bajema and Fells are FAs, IIRC, so drafting one in the middle of the draft wouldn't be a bad thing. I'd rather the Rams get a young RB(like Devine or Thomas), than one who has been in the league for a few years.

If one of Green/Jones/Blackmon is there in the 1st round, it would be my preference. Obviously, if someone like Bowers, Amukamara or Peterson fell, that would change it... but I don't see that happening.

RB in 2nd would be nice. If there isn't the knock your socks off, how did he fall kind of player available, I wouldn't mind Ingram/Hunter/Devine/Thomas.

It's likely that the RBs you listed(excepted for Ingram and maybe Thomas) will be there between around the 3rd, 4th and 5th round.

Pretty much no chance Green makes it past pick 6 without a major scandal (Which would make him more-or-less undraftable by this team, I think). It would take our second rounder and a late round pick to move up that far. Personally, I'd do it. The team should still be in the mode of adding premium talent.

Plus, dont forget they drafted TE Fendi Onobun last year, who is a project, but physically could be a beast if he can learn the TE position.

I didn't forget Fendi, but I don't think he's a #1 or #2 TE for the Rams just yet.

There's some charts that have him around the 10 spot for whatever unknown reason. If he gets that low, I jump on the chance to get him. Maybe just the 1st and 2nd would get that done.

Of course, I like Julio Jones a lot too. Put up good numbers in a running-style offense. I'd love to see what he could do in one that opens up the field.

I think the chances are better that Fendi gets a Olympic bobsledding gold than becomes a Pro Bowl TE. Just because Gates and Gonzalez played college BB ...
