A second team in Chicago. Can their logo be Stern urinating on the Space Needle?Hungary Jack wrote:There is a rumor wafting around here that the league would move them to the Chicago burbs where they would play at AllState Arena, which hosts Chicago Wolves hockey and DePaul basketball.MrSaigon wrote:The league is taking over the Hornets, and no one's going to the games in NO. I wonder if they'll move. Seattle is a great market for a team. How great would it be to see Seattle knocking off OKC in the playoffs?
I'll answer for you: very great. If you thought that LeBron returning to Cleveland was fun, imagine Clay going to Seattle for a game (though he doesn't have to show up).
However, Stern is prideful, terrible man. So I imagine Key Arena won't be acceptable even if the Hornets end up playing at UNLV for a while. Actually, do they have a court in LV? Where was the All-Star game played?
I would not mind having another NBA team here just to generate some more grist for local sports talk. It would be interesting to see if an urban/suburban rivalry developed between Bulls fans and Schaumburg Hornet fans.

Dude, Key Arena is worse than most College venues I've been to. It's awful. This isn't Stern's fault. Also, there will never be a second team in Chicago.MrSaigon wrote:A second team in Chicago. I could definitely see an NBA team in Schaumberg. They could build a new arena that houses a Chili's, TGI Friday's, Macaroni Grill, Applebee's, and an Outback Steakhouse.thrill wrote:Dude, Key Arena is worse than most College venues I've been to. There is plenty of fault on Stern for the Sonics not being in Seattle. But you are right about not going back there with the Hornets without another deal, that would be understandable.thrill wrote:Dude, Key Arena is worse than most College venues I've been to.
