He is not the most athletic big man you've ever seen.
Kemp's memory has been ruined by his last five years plodding around at 280 lbs. In his prime he set the gold standard, but I think Griffin will have a better highlight reel and be a better overall player by the time he's done.
Yeah, but I think the fact that there's a more than reasonable chance that Blake Griffin is actually Kemp's son should factor in his legacy positively.

I was happy to see this from Doc Rivers (remember Boston tanked to get the no. 1 but ended up with no. 5):

"Even though everybody changes now, we were all for Oden, and I think 98 percent of the league,’’ Rivers said. "But now I hear it all over our staff, I hear it everywhere, ‘Oh, no, we were Durant guys.’ I don’t believe that. I think we would have drafted Oden.’’

But if the Thunder get (or develop) a couple solid roleplayers and learn to play defense and become a presence, this isn't the story that's going to be told. You see it already--'Why was Portland so stupid?'

Funny you guys should be talking about Kemp. This is from the Yahoo article about Griffin's dunk, and Amar'e's acknowledgement of it:
Remember this moment for as long as you can. All it's missing is Shawn Kemp looking down upon both players in approval from a luxury box while eating an entire cheesecake with his bare hands.

Go Rush and Hansbrough! Two of MU's best players over the last couple of decades.

What? MU lost out on both? Thanks Quin.

Philly is already seven games out after 14 games.

But the Clippers are eleven out after 15.

So there is that.

Spurs quietly putting together a very nice season so far. Thrill, what you see in them thats different from last year? I always fear Gregg Popovich coached team.

You know I'm not convinced they're much better. The Lakers have nothing to fear from anyone but Boston.

In other news, IT'S DERRICK ROSE NIGHT PHOENIX. I LOOK FORWARD TO WITNESSING YET ANOTHER FIRST-HAND POSTERIZATION OF A WHITE POINT GUARD TONIGHT.

To quote my dude Stacey King.

STOP THE BUSSES! GET OUT THE WAY DRAGIC!

Btw, if you haven't been paying attention, Chris Paul may be a better pure point guard, but if you want one guy to win you an NBA game at the 1 position, it's Derrick Rose. If you disagree, you're wrong.
