That was teh best. I love how they threw Bertrand Russell in there but I wish they had expounded on how Principia Mathematica is really just a 3 volume recipe for subjugating the third world and wiping out undesirables. I mean isn't interesting how he sought to limit the axiom of choice to lower classes of his stratified hierarchy.

Actual fact: thanks to my recent posts, I know have the wikipedia articles for Miles "Tails" Prower and the Principia Mathematica right next to each other in my browser history.

Man, I'm all about anti-corporation ranting, hell yeah! Power to the people! And stuff, etc etc, but someone put a lot of time into that youtube video, and I feel like whoever wrote that stupid Disney thing spent about 20 seconds throwing in two names he read from his Philosophy 202 class. Was someone really hyped up enough to believe that some Disney exec had some lamebrain writer for a crappy show sneak in a subtle reference to 1800s eugenics philosophy essays?

Anyway. I watched my sweet-ass Ugandan action movie preview again after seeing that video, so it made it worth it clicking this thread at 330am.

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I were heading to a minor league ballgame in town and about a mile from our house we saw a huge traffic problem. We were able to detour around it no problem well before we got up there, it looked like a doozy of an accident. Go to the game, head back home and .... road still blocked. Cops out investigating etc.. unbelievable. Read about the accident in the paper, head on collision where they had to air lift one of the victims. Now that stretch is dangerous, you are coming from an area where the limit is 45 and people do 55, with a 30 degree bend in the road at the same time. My wife actually got into an accident there that totaled her car about 7 years ago. So not surprising, and since the HS is nearby I wondered if some texting teen didn't notice the bend in the road and went into oncoming traffic.

Last week, we get a flyer in our mailbox asking for food donations for a neighbor that lives in the court in back of us. We know them to talk to them, even been at social gatherings a couple of times, but not close friends at all. They have kids our kids age, so we just naturally run into them. Well it turns out that one of the victims - the one air lifted - was this guy. Broken legs, hips, vertebra, and blood on the brain. Very serious injuries, and he will be in the hopital for a very long time.

Weird, kind of a wtf moment thinking that it could happen to anyone.

Now the details come out .... he was hit by an 80 year old man. First thought - guy can't drive. Read on, turns out the guy was trying to commit suicide and admitted to wanting to take someone down with him. He intentionally swerved his car into oncoming traffic. I guess his 92 year old wife had a restraining order against him for various reasons, and he was pissed.

Really, how could anyone do something like this? And what a way to leave this world.

A wtf moment close to home.

This is old, and it could even be in the thread already, but why would a talk show allow incoming calls to OJ?

If you've read anything about OJ it is very clear that he is not sane nor prone to making good decisions. I'm not referring to his possibly/likely killing people btw.

Unfortunately. I was on my way back from lunch (a whopping 4 minute drive), and the station that carries ESPN had commercials on. Rome may be worse to listen to than Dr. Laura was, and that's saying quite a bit. When I flipped on, they had just started this clip, so I forgot Rome was even on that station. They carry Dan Patrick in the mornings which is the only reason it's still a preset option. It's Fox Sports Radio the rest of the day which is only a small step up from Rome.
