It is a 1 game suspension for getting two yellows to get sent off, if you get a straight red you get a 2 game ban.StL Dan wrote:DQ'd for the remainder of the current game AND next game, eh? A red card also means you are ineligible for the next game.

Here has been my biggest brick wall to learning soccer..... soccer/football fans. I really do want to get into the games but it is almost inevitable the a 'fan' is going to say "stupid Americans" or "lazy Americans" in reference to the game. Guess what, being called stupid or lazy is not conductive to helping someone learn, only to pissing them off.

Where are you watching the games to encounter this? I'm too lazy to track it down.Hudler wrote:Here has been my biggest brick wall to learning soccer..... soccer/football fans. Those sound like comments you might read on a blog or forum.

I sat near an Australian guy at a bar during the last World Cup who was trying to teach his American friends the game of football. He literally said "You stupid Americans do not know a good game....". Everything I hear and read in reference to the game from non-Americans is be-littling towards us and it is a major turn off. I can't speak to everyone, but I love teaching someone about the game I love (baseball) when they don't know anything about it, why do too many soccer fans have to be so arrogant about the game.

I'd consider it about the same as the dozens of Americans I know that are mocking those of us who are enjoying the world cup because it's so 'stupid and boring'.

What prompted the Aussie guy to say that? Maybe they were doing what friends at a bar sometimes do, joking around a bit. Or it's possible that Australians in the United States are just pricks about teaching soccer at bars.Hudler wrote: It's both online and in person.

Everything? I'll just disagree on that. Even Al Jazeera managed some kind words for the American effort yesterday.Everything I hear and read in reference to the game from non-Americans is be-littling towards us and it is a major turn off.

Even the Aussie's friends were starting to get pissed at him. I had to get up and move to where I couldn't hear him because I was one more rude comment about the U.S. away from punching him in the mouth. He was a HUGE friggin rugby player.

Australia has much less history in soccer than we do. That guy was just an ignorant doucher.
