What's the consensus here? My buddy (we mostly ignore each other on XBL) bothered to send me a message saying it was flat awesome and a must buy.

I'm about 3-4 hours in. It's GTA in the old west but so far it's much better than GTA4. The multiplayer seems pretty cool, but I haven't tried it yet.

i love it. MP is fun...gettin into a posse and griefing other player is hilarious...and it feels a lot larger than gta iv

and the MP kinda plays like mw2 in the sense that you can level up to 50, then go into "legendary mode" and start over and earn new titles, weapons, characters, mounts, etc...

Sounds good. I'm looking for a new game to screw around with this weekend.

RDR will appeal to your OCD tendencies (see fable 2 and fallout 3).

I beat RDR's single player mode. It takes awhile to really get going but it was pretty fun. I wish they had spent less time making quality side stuff and a little more making the gameplay more interesting. The missions change but the stuff you actually do within them gets kind of repetitive. I also would have liked to see more variety of weapons. The game itself is pretty buggy. I had it completely freeze up or screw up in the middle of missions several times and sometimes your player becomes hard to control. I also would have liked to see more duels and practical uses for the dead eye mode. With the regular targeting I hardly even used dead eye. The map is pretty big but seems to be easier to get around quickly between your horse and the campsite warp thing. Overall I'd give the single player a 7/10, hopefully they can continue to tweak future titles to make them better. And for god's sake let me bang a hooker.

there are some bugs for sure, but i actually find them pretty funny (er, well, the ones that dont shut down your console)...especially in MP, you'll occasionally see a floating horse or something...

also, for those who want to rank up, do private matches with a few friends and do the gang hideouts, etc...you'll get tons of XP and you dont have to deal with griefers

Does everyone have it for 360? Or are there any PS3 owners here with it?

My hunch is that my gf's parents got it for me for my birthday. We're meeting up with them tomorrow. I will let you know what I think if that's the case.
