Re: The Video Game Thread
Red Dead Redemption looks like a glorious Grand Theft Auto in the wild west. I simply can't ask for more. I went from for sure putting out money for Alan Wake to for sure putting out money for Red Dead Redemption after one gameplay trailer. I'm still getting both but RDR has rank right now.

Hopefully it's not as boring as GTA IVPujolJunkie wrote:Red Dead Redemption looks like a glorious Grand Theft Auto in the wild west. I simply can't ask for more. Re: The Video Game Thread
I picked up Just Cause 2 the other day and so far its been a let down. The core ideas are awesome and it looks great, but the execution is frustrating. The controls are wonky, the gunplay is weak and its full of annoying little design decisions. I'm hoping it grows on me, but with Red Dead Redemption preordered I have a feeling I'm going to take a mulligan on this one.

my xbox is dying on me, i have to punch it several times before the laser will read a disc...so its kinda annoying trying to start a game...

I plan on picking up Red Dead Redemption as my husband's Father's Day gift.

Re: The Video Game Thread
yeah, I abandoned Just Cause 2 after a couple of sessions. Just wasn't fun due to the controls. Another reason I'm glad I use Gamefly.
I'm in a gaming dead period while waiting for Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake. I tried out Bayonetta, but it just isn't my cup of tea.

Picked up Uncharted 2 & Heavy Rain. Haven't played either just yet but I'm damn excited for both. Then with RDR coming up and Alan Wake as well, I'm gonna be one happy camper.
In related news, Toys R Us has a release date deal next week for RDR for Rewards R Us members. All you need to sign up is a license and an email address. It's a totally free program. (Christ I feel like I'm at work). So if you have a TRU near you, go in between 10 AM and 2 PM on Tuesday, sign up and get a $25 gift card with the game. Which you can then use on another game or save for later or buy a [expletive] load of candy or whatever you want to do with it.

Picked up Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 & RDR. The first two on Ebay for 30 bucks a piece and RDR at work for the 25 dollar gift card. All three are fantastic games, although RDR will be much better when the online play gets smoothed out. Heavy Rain is fantastic and I'm looking forward to playing through it again and I've barely even started on Uncharted 2, but the first few levels have been great.
