Strongest beer in the world: Brewdog produces 41pc ale
A controversial brewery has produced a 41 per cent volume ale that it claims is the strongest in the world.

It's not even beer at that point.
IMO anything over 15% ABV is not beer. 10 to 15% is the questionable range.

Tried a few beers lately:

A- Founders Red Rye - damn good. a good crisp hoppy beer.

B+ Bells Hopslam - I can see why people like it. Its enjoyable, but I'm not quite there yet with my tastes.

A- Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye - great tasting bear, but not enough to overcome the expensive price

It's like drinking NA, but you aren't that guy with a bottle of O'Douls. It's roughly 2.5% abv. If it didn't taste so bad it would be funny to see how many of these you could drink.
That product is pathetic in just about every way (and I say that without having tasted it).

If you want to watch your calories, don't drink [expletive] beer in the first place. Or drink less. Or eat less. Just don't insult the history of beer by making these fairy dust and unicorn beers.
looking at reviews on ratebeer just out of curiosity. Some good stuff here:
My lowest rating for an Anheuser-Busch brew, I honestly don’t know if I would recognize this as beer if you blindfolded me. It’s almost like drinking club soda or seltzer. In terms of body and flavor, regular Bud Select is Guinness Stout compared to this. As far as buzz factor, forget it. You could drown in this stuff and still pass a breathalyzer. Suddenly, Natural Light seems like a respectable beer.
12 oz bottle from GM Liquors. Clear gold, medium pale yellow head. Nose of sweet creamed corn. Flavor is watery and kind of pasty with a hint of caramel
Definition: wa·ter [wáwtər] - the clear colorless liquid, odorless and tasteless when pure, that occurs as rain, snow, and ice, forms rivers, lakes, and seas, and is essential for life. Naturally occurring water picks up color and taste from substances in its environment. H2O Not the worst beer I’ve ever tasted... I guess it has that going for it...
Ah the greatest brewer on earth. The King of beers. It was golden with no head. The aroma-What aroma? There is none.
etc

I've had the MGD 64 and the bud 55. Bud 55 is putrid nasty stuff. just carbonated water. MGD 64 is not to my liking, but is drinkable, and much better than bud.

Regarding the new River City Casino that opens next week:
St. Louis Business Journal wrote:The 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis features prominently in the look and feel of the casino. In one of its five dining/bar options, the 1904 Brew House, dozens of hand-painted German beer steins line the bar’s back wall. The bar will have one of the largest tap selections in St. Louis, with 32 beers on tap and more than 100 bottle selections. Pinnacle worked with Anheuser-Busch InBev to develop a new beer just for Pinnacle, called 1904. It was rolled out at the Mardi Gras parade Feb. 13, which River City Casino sponsored.
Did anyone try this new beer?

During the hockey final hoopla, beer offerings included Molson and Labatt's blue - good solid lagers even though from multinational beer conglomerates.

Got to like these Molson mantras
My beer has been universally well-liked beyond my most sanguine expectations. - John Molson, 1786

"We are all members of a larger community which depends on everyone playing a part," John Molson speaking to employees in 1825

"An honest brew makes its own friends," John Molson, and displayed on Molson Canadian packaging today

Beers newly tried recently and enjoyed:
New Belgium Mighty Arrow
Schlafly Scotch Ale
Charleville Hoptimistic IPA
New Belgium Ranger IPA

Beers newly-tried recently and not enjoyed.

none.

(indicating that I either do too careful in my purchases... or more likely that I'm becoming such a lush that anything short of rubbing alcohol tastes like Mothers Milk).

Smuttynose Imperial Stout.

Picked this up today... Looking forward to giving it a swirl later this evening.

Was hoping to find the Smuttynose Big A at my store today but it's not available yet. Man, will I be giddy when I see it.
