Re: The Video Game Thread
Gamers with great Tele's: about to invest in a new HDTV(have a Philips 46" thats about 7 tears old), and was debating over whether I should sell the farm for LED 240hz 42" Samsung. OR, If getting a 46" LCD 120hz Samsung for half the price of the LED is a better bet.
Now wait...
Me knows that LED is the best of the PLasma and LCD worlds mixed. so thats kinda a no-brainer there. But since Ill mostly be playing games; is there a huge difference in the graphically quality? my cousin has the exact LCD Samsung that Im looking at getting, and its beautiful on the Xbox and playing BluRay. just seems like with TV's about to take another leap in technology, LED will be real cheap in a few years.

I wouldn't lose 4 inches and pay double the price for a better image quality, but that's just me. A 120hz 46 inch Samsung LCD is pretty good. That said, you need to see the TVs in person to decide if the difference is worth it to you.

shadow complex was great...i think i "messed" up my file as i cannot go back to a certain area to pick up an armor piece...need to do it again me thinksMichael wrote:Just finished Shadow Complex. It was well worth the 800 MS points I paid for it. It's amazing how 15 year old gameplay (super metroid) can feel fresh.

Personally, I'm sticking with plasma until OLED is functional and affordable, because I like telling people my TV is prettier than theirs (Though I don't know that I could tell the difference in picture quality between my Pioneer and a low-end plasma). LED is an improvement over LCD, but it has its own unique problems with picture quality and its price is being artificially inflated right now to position it as the high-end TV choice.Zomby Woof wrote:Gamers with great Tele's: about to invest in a new HDTV(have a Philips 46" thats about 7 tears old), and was debating over whether I should sell the farm for LED 240hz 42" Samsung. iM also reading that 240hz is too much for most games, making you dumb it down to 120hz just to play without screen tear.Michael wrote:I wouldn't lose 4 inches and pay double the price for a better image quality, but that's just me. im in awe everytime i go over to my cousins house for a party. the Super Bowl was insane. his TV goes for about 1,200$ right now, which is about 600$ less than he paid about a year ago.

That's where I am...my 4 year old HDTV works for me until OLED or something better comes out in 4-5 years.cpebbles wrote:Personally, I'm sticking with plasma until OLED is functional and affordable, because I like telling people my TV is prettier than theirs (Though I don't know that I could tell the difference in picture quality between my Pioneer and a low-end plasma). i never see you on...do you turn your online status off? exestl right?Jocephus wrote:PujolJunkie wrote:And right after I posted that, I proceeded to play for 3 hours, rank up 3 levels and put up crazy numbers like 20-3 and get a game winning kill 5 times in a row, while calling in 2 chopper gunners, a ton of care packages, an EMP and other things. I'm baffled by my abilities in this game. KD back up to 1.12
That's weird because I'm on all of the time. sxestl. MW2 is the only thing I've been playing on 360 lately. I'll double check my settings. I don't think I have it set to Show Offline.
Speaking of my gamertag, man I need to change that.

How did nobody post this before now? Am I the only one here willing to be banned for a penis joke?

I'm not now but I will be pretty soon. I'm getting the itch. I'll check my settings when I get on. I might have done it to avoid this guy I met at my job who sends me game invites and once called me broski.Jocephus wrote:hmm...yeah, ive got you on my friends list but it doesn't appear that you are on
