But since we can change votes, there needs to be a campaign to reallocate away from third place once it become clear who that is.

Murray's like my 5th choice, but he's the runaway winner of these three.

The lack of appreciation that Pryor has been getting in these later rounds disappoints me. He beats both of these guys on body of work, innovation, influence, and peak funny. If you're someone who wanted Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, or Eddie Murphy to win this tourney you should be voting Pryor, because without him they wouldn't exist.

I don't care about "influential." I care about funny. 2/3s of the musical artists I like probably wouldn't be around without Elvis. His music still sucks.

Pryor is funny, but he's not as funny as an awful lot of others in this tournament.

Really? When I was a kid I knew Pryor through his movies. Maybe four years ago I started listening to his standup and almost immediately it hit me that all those guys, and many more comedians, are obviously indebted to Pryor. They're just doing his act with different punchlines.

I guess I just find those "so and so wouldn't exist without so and so" arguments kind of weird. In my mind someone else would have come along to inspire or influence if it wasn't that first person. And just because he did it first doesn't mean you can't have the opinion that someone else did the same thing better. I happen to enjoy Chappelle more than Pryor. Willie Mays was a better player than Jackie Robinson. Note: I still might vote for him...it's between him and Murray, I just find statements like that strange and none of these guys would be in my personal final match.

George Carlin shouldn't have made it to the Sweet 16. Do the right thing guys.
