Re: The Video Game Thread
This may have been asked/answered somewhere in this thread, but it's a little long to look at (that's what she said).
Does anyone recommend the Wii for a family with two small kids? I'm not really into gaming anymore, but I was wondering if it's worth it for essentially an 8- and 3-year old.
The wife is resisting just because she thinks that's all I'll do.

I don't know if the 3 year old will get much out of it, maybe in a year or 2 he/she will, but the 8 yr old will love it

Tell your wife that Leroy from the internet says you will waste your life away with that thing.

I highly recommend it. You'll be surprised on how much you, your kids, and your wife will play it.BW23 wrote:This may have been asked/answered somewhere in this thread, but it's a little long to look at (that's what she said).

Video games are better than TV, although 3 is a little young.BW23 wrote:Does anyone recommend the Wii for a family with two small kids? I'm not really into gaming anymore, but I was wondering if it's worth it for essentially an 8- and 3-year old.
My wife's god sons are around their age and they love the Wii. They play lego series games and Mario Kart.
Make sure they have two controllers. It's key to buy games that are two player so there's no fighting.

Re: The Video Game Thread
Depends on the show and the game, but your typical video game is significantly better for development than your typical TV show. Problem solving, pattern matching, hand-eye coordination, zombie-survival techniques...all critical.Michael wrote:Video games are better than TV, although 3 is a little young.BW23 wrote:Does anyone recommend the Wii for a family with two small kids? I am getting a PS3 tonight as a gift from my Special Lady Friend for Christmas. What's the first game I should buy?
I haven't played Uncharted yet, I've already played the first Assassin's Creed, and I can't get CoD MW2 because I have a flight on Saturday morning and I'll miss it if I get into CoD.
