Re: The Video Game Thread
I have finally played Modern Warfare 2. It is fabulous. I love it. Definitely lived up to the hype for me.
Oh and it's the most frustrating game I've ever played, btw

My KD ratio is above 1.00 for the first time ever in my history of playing Call of Duty.
I think I might actually be good at this game.

Anyone played Mirror's Edge? I didn't pay any mind to it when it was released, but the videos I've seen look awesome. I love the look of it. Nice to see a game not trying to be so "gritty." The consensus online seems to be that it was a fresh idea with potential, but it's a little buggy and not quite "there" yet.

If you're an average player, such as myself, wait awhile. I was +200 until last weekend and now I'm minus 100. Hardcore Team Deathmatch made me it's [expletive]. Also, I think the real good players are getting familiar with the maps and I don't get to play enough to keep up with them.PujolJunkie wrote:My KD ratio is above 1.00 for the first time ever in my history of playing Call of Duty.

Yeah, Hardcore TDM gets on my nerves. 3rd Person is amazing, though. I think I might actually start playing it a lot.Sutter'sBeard wrote:If you're an average player, such as myself, wait awhile. I'm getting really familiar with all of the maps and they're so much easier to use to your advantage than MW1 was. I'm not sure if this is just a fluke and I'll be back to .90 in no time or if I'm actually better than I used to be, but either way this game is so much more fun to play, much less win.

Re: The Video Game Thread
Mirror's Edge is mostly a ton of fun. I ended up not finishing it because I got too frustrated with some of the later sections. Whether that is due to my sucking or to the game "not quite being there" I don't know, but I'd put money on the former.
Overall I had a lot of fun for a while with it. The free running is a blast when you're just kinda bouncing around the city. Any time it becomes about free running to avoid the guys trying to shoot and kill you the fun factor goes way down.

Mirror's Edge is the the most frustratingly brilliant games I've ever played. Think super mario meets halo. The core running mechanic is amazing, but they added a bunch of ill conceived combat that undermined the flow. All I wanted to do was run, but the fighting made everything slow to a crawl. I desperately want a squeal that fixes it's issues. If they do I think it will be one of the best games ever made.

Picked up L4D2 on amazon for 35 bucks. They're running a lot of great deals here. Dragon Age is 35 right now too.
slickdeals.net and cheapassgamer.com are my best friends for the next couple of days.
