No, nobody has ever had any "luck" mixing anything in a beer, even another brand of beer. Now, if you have a really big mug and pour in a bottle of your favorite beer and you have room to pour in another bottle of that same beer ... NOW you are talking.

I'll bet that Young's Luxury Double Chocolate Stout would make a good ice cream float. The only black and tan I've ever had was Guinness and Bass, and while good, it wasn't earth shattering. Side note-don't order the large beer at Bennigan's unless you actually want a 46oz beer. Next time I'm at Flat Branch here in Columbia I'll get a black and tan (Oil Change Stout/English PA) if they have the PA.

A black and tan does not mix beers when done properly.

I see.

Now I faintly recall a guy at a bar puffing up his chest and proudly ordering a "Black and Tan" .

is it any good?

maybe I tried the thing with beer and rootbeer schnapps. don't remember it too well though. Sort of naive, didn't realize how rich the history is. There's probably nothing that hasn't been done before with drinks.

The thought about mixing beers came to mind because there are several beers that are "almosts" as far as taste for me -usually some of the darker beers and stouts. So if only it had a little of this other beer... maybe I'll experiment - but not tell jim about it.

That seems plenty big enough for a large. Just what are you expecting, an entire keg?

I've done the Sake Bomb thing, with sake and Japanese beer. But then, I don't like Japanese beer so the sake actually makes it better to me.
