Re: The Video Game Thread
yeah, I got past the repetitive nature of the missions. Taking a break for a year did the trick there.
I just didn't like the combat mechanics. I'm not optimistic that they've changed them because it seems a lot of people liked the set up.
I also didn't enjoy how you seemingly could not do anything near the end of the game without alerting the endless stream of guards nearby. I can appreciate the heightened awareness they would have due to all the assassinations you yourself have been pulling off, but when you already don't like the combat it really gets frustrating when you're continually put into combat over and over again by just moving through the city.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I was trying to decide what game I wanted to get after I get some money in the bank. It was going to be L4D2.. but Modern Warfare 2 has taken the lead in my most anticipated game. L4D2's demo is incredible but they've almost completely redone Modern Warfare 2. It's nearly a new game. I'm excited.

I almost bought it last night, but figured I didn't have enough time to put into it until the Holidays. I'm gonna get it then. It's supposed to be great.TimeForGuinness wrote:I need to pick up Dragon Age

I have never enjoyed a Bioware game, but I decided to give them one last try so I just went and picked Dragon Age up. I should have some first impressions by tonight.

Okay, this is the scene in Modern Warfare 2 that is causing so much turmoil about the violence in the game. It's pretty intense, even for a video game, so if you don't dig that kind of thing, don't look. Also there's a spoiler at the end of the video so if you intend on being surprised by the campaign, don't look:

Dunno how long it'll stay up.

Heh, I'll be buying that. It does raise the question about how far things like this could go.

I don't get it. It's an awesome, super highly anticipated game. There's no reason they should subject themselves to this kind of controversy.
