The Cubs have 8 games before they come to StL
1 at PIT
3 vs CIN
4 vs MIL


Let's say the Cardinals go 5-2 over that stretch. That puts the Magic Number at 8 if the Cubs win all of their games before the series. We can guarantee they'll beat PIT tomorrow. The Reds, on the other hand, have been playing solid ball lately, but being at Wrigley, I'm going to guess the Cubs take 2 of 3. With the Brewers in town, the Cubs will likely win 2 or 3. So that means if the Cubs lose 2 or 3 from here until the series, the Magic Number will be at 5 or 6. So if we sweep the Cubs at home, we would clinch on the 3rd game... That would be sweet. Sweep the Cubs and eliminate them from the division race in the same game.
