Why do certain posters postings cut
off only a few words in while most go
out much further?

Does anyone know what I'm talking
about?

omaha and pop come to mind. Is it
because neither of them use caps? Or
do they both like to write like haiku?

I'm not complaining about it by any
means. I was just wondering if it was
some kind of weird board thing, or if
certain posters actively hit "enter"
after several words each line.

Although typing like this does
make me feel like a bad
poet.

I assumed they were
hitting enter.

maybe they have smaller monitors and instinctively hit enter when the characters get close
to the end of the box that you make posts in. Then again, i'm trying to do that right now
and you have to type a good bit of information into each line before you get to the end of the
box. It could just be that they're a little weird, or have a unique fondness for the enter button
on their keyboard.

Back in the day, anyone sending information out of AOL ended up with that format. If you used AOL as your ISP/browser, all of your e-mails, forum posts, etc. ended up being formatted in a column like that.

I
wonder
that
as
well.

I just thought omaha did it to be cute and to get attention. Pop I thought did it because he is a few slices short of a loaf.

Typing like that in the past was probably a neccessity with more limited software back in the day. They're probably just creatures of habit.

yes, that was his name, and that was way back in the day.
