unknowingly, I had seen parts of it before on movie channels, such as near the end with the guy carrying the balloons.
The movie was beautiful to look at, so just passing by on channel surfin you get hooked. what a setting.

I've only seen Joe Cotten in a few movies , such as Shadow of a Doubt - an underrated actor.

and Alida Valli -va va voom! she now ranks up there with Ingrid Bergman amongst my grand-crushes

Amazing movie, you should check out The Fallen Idol too, not in the same league but just as beautifully shot. Other than the rather whatever Oliver! those are the only two Reeds I've seen.

Put this one on your list. It's also not in the Third man league but it's well worth watching.

Has anybody seen Watership Down? I heard it's terrifying.
watch "visitor Q" and then say that again....

"i spit on your grave" is nothing special really.. but "cannibal" will scar you for life.. i'm not kidding.. not even a little

Yeah, I'm trying to decide if I wanna watch any of these movies, to be honest with you. Especially after reading the lots. I could handle it, but I'm not sure if I WANT to.

I don't even know what to say about this movie other than don't waste your time. It's 2 hours and 40 minutes long with a few small pockets of good surrounded by laughably bad. Major plot holes abound with several instances of complete and utter nonsense thrown in for good measure. You get to see a fantastic set of boobs, that's really the only worthwhile part of the movie. The rest of it is mediocre at best actors trying to execute a terrible script with cringe worthy dialogue while curiously embracing pretty much every possible negative stereotype about black people. All from a director who obviously has no clue how to pull off a war movie.
I agree with just about everything you just said. I didn't really see the "stereotype" thing, and I thought the war footage wasn't bad. But other than that... yeah. Small pockets of some great stuff, surrounded by a sloppy, stupid, disjointed screenplay accompanied by a really unnecessary beginning and ending.

I especially agree about the boobs.
Just saw this, and I hardly know what to say. and its not an understatement - this movie is beyond terrible. except for the boobs.

I like a lot of the things Spike Lee has done (25th Hour, He Got Game, Inside Man, Malcolm X, etc.) but I really disliked this movie. Part of the reason I wanted to watch it was because I'm normally impressed by Spike Lee but he should stay away from war movies. It jumped around like crazy and just completely underwhelmed me. Although I didn't see the stereotype thing either. And the ending sucked.

for some crazy reason.. i liked "visitor Q".. miike knows how to make a good messed up movie..

"cannibal" was the most vile piece of trash i've ever seen.. and i've seen a lot of weird [expletive]..
the worst part is that it's based on a true story.. and from what i've read the movie is
pretty accurate..

The question is, how did you feel about "The Visitor Q" starring Richard Jenkins?

There are really only two movies that I sort of wish I'd never seen (ie if you really want to challenge yourself, these are good places to start).

-A Hole in my Heart (it features, among other things, actual surgical footage of a labiaplasty)

-Cannibal Holocaust
