different from the horror genre. it's slow and quiet and the cast is made up mainly
of children. the feel and pacing are great and the atmosphere along with quite a few
images are just plain creepy. probably not for too many people here as it may bore
you to tears, but i loved it.. again.. it's different and it's done well..

So glad you liked it. I just love this movie incredibly much. I ordered it on Amazon and should be getting it soon. Can't wait to watch it again.

The love story at the core of the movie is beautiful and terrible. Did you get the feeling that the boy will be that old man one day?
i didn't but now that you brought it up it just makes me like it more.. that's a super
tight concept that explains the old man in a much different light. i need to let
it sink in a little more.. and probably watch it a few more times to really catch everything.

a plot spoiler question for you.. and this is a big spoiler so don't click on it
if you want to watch the movie
[SHOW]
so the dude from the bar.. the one whose buddy and girlfriend? are
killed by the little girl.. how the hell does he know where she's hiding at night?
he goes right to her hiding spot and tries to kill her.. how the hell did he know
where she was.. or even who she was?
[SHOW]
Didn't he see her attacking his girlfriend and kick her? I got the impression that the little apartment complex they're all living in was the kind of place where it's easy to spot a newcomer. Maybe he just guessed she would be in the apartment that the old man, who he met in the diner, had moved into? I'll have to rewatch it because some of these details are foggy. Btw, how awesome is the ending, where she saves him from the bullies? It was beautiful violence.

yeah.. he did kick her.. i forgot about that.. and the ending was so badass..
the arms and heads falling in the pool.. my wife was pissed that there were plotholes
and they didn't explain enough.. which surprised me cause normally she and i are on
the same page.. i tried to explain to her that it didn't need to tie itself up in a neat
little package.. plus she hated the main kid's hair.. oh well..

According to one Netflix member, you guys are wrong about that movie:
Let the Right One In

Don't listen to the 5 star ratings. This is a pathetic voice over movie set in Eastern Europe.

This is [expletive] retarded. In any other industry this is plagiarism, or copyright infringement.

I know movies get remade all the time but the remakes are so rarely any good.

The one that's been driving me bat [expletive] bonkers lately is "Last House on the Left".

1. It's a remake of a 70's horror that was pretty mediocre

2. The 70's horror was a loose remake of an Ingmar Bergman film (Virgin Spring)

You know how when you have incest, eventually genetic irregularities show up and the next thing you know, some kid is retarded and has 3 teeth? This incarnation of "Last House on the Left" is that retard.
