Nothing wrong with that. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm going to have to give it another shot. I may have gave up on it a bit early last time.

My favorites:

-Crimes and Misdemeanors
-Interiors
-Everything You Wanted to Know about Sex (which is an exception to my "If he's in the movie" rule)
-Match Point
-Cassandra's Dream
-Love and Death

If you liked Match Point, I'd definitely check out Cassandra's Dream.
How did I forget Interiors. I love that one too, but a lot of people don't like it. By the way, Woody Allen is in Love & Death and Crimes and Misdemeanors too. But I'm the opposite, in general I like the movies with Woody more than the ones without him.

The only ones I've not watched are Cassandra's Dream, Scoop, Radio Days, Anything Else, and Sweet & Lowdown.

Love and Death was a natural for me because it's a Bergman homage.

He's in Crimes and Misdemeanors, but for some reason I didn't find his neurotic Jewish guy schtick to be intrusive in that one.

There's a line in a Simpson's episode where Ned Flanders says "I like Woody Allen movies. I just don't like that nervous fella that's always in them."

Yeah, that's me, 100%.

This weekend I watched "The Lives of Others". I loved it. But I'm a sucker for anything regarding the -isms (socialism, communism, marxism, facism, anarchism). I can't imagine living in a world were I have to worry about everything I say is monitored by the Stasi.

That surprises me coming from a movie geek like you!

I'm a relatively newly hooked movie geek wannabee - got a long way to go, many holes in my viewing experience. For instance, the Godfathers I probably saw only for first time in the last ten years -what a sheltered life I've lived. OTOH - its great to be able to see so many old movies as if they were new.

Only downside is, I have a harder time enjoying some of today's movies -in light of the old classics I'm getting accustomed to. I'm on my way to joining you guys in your movie snob kingdom. :)

Thanks for everyones' Woody Allen recommendations. most of his films probably never came to my hometown growing up. maybe not even to its video store - by the time his movies came avail to me and my interests were matured - the whole marrying his adpopted-daughter thing may have subconsciously turned me off with his pics.

Nowadays, I try not to let an artist's personal transgressions, religion, political affiliation etc affect my opinion on their work. especially after watching Kazan's work.

Watched Pride and Glory (which wasn't bad), Body of Lies (which was better), and Wanted which wasn't really very good but had some entertaining parts.

Next on the list in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, anyone know if that's any good?
