I wouldn't drive a pricey European car even if I could afford it for the same reason I hate having a blackberry. I would feel like a tool.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never viewed either of things as a lifestyle choice. Both are economical and convenient for my purposes.

I think that's a little more accurate. I see more foreign cars in urban settings, but that's just me.

SUV's are of course a suburban staple too. But for me, "I drive a Honda Accord" is akin to saying "I live in O'Fallon". It's comfortable, and cost-efficient. I'm not excited by it.

I'm one of the few city-dwellers that drives a full-size truck. I realize this. I'm cool with that. It comes in handy for my hobbies. If I didn't drive a truck, I'd probably get a Jeep Patriot (for camping purposes), or if I got a car, I'd go with an older model BMW or a Mini Cooper.

Not going to disagree with you there...but saying all Japanese cars is a lot. Takes a lot away from the Acuras, Infinitis, and Lexus sport coupes and sport sedans. Plus before they quit making them, the Honda Prelude and Toyota Supras were amazing cars.

But yes, the Accord and Camry are vanilla...but making blanket statements about Japanese cars is almost as blind as saying that all rednecks drive pick-ups especially when they don't need them everyday.

Not trying to pick a nit with you specifically, but the perception of suburbs on this board continues to perplex me. I'm trying to understand it.

Most of those cars are just re-branded Hondas, Toyotas, and Nissans. So they still hold very little excitement for me. I did paint with a broad brush--I do realize that there's more than the staples.

Japanese cars just aren't my thing, and they never have been. The only one I've ever been interested in was the Subaru WTI, but they've had pretty bland designs the past few years. I like European cars much more. I've never been interested in many American cars over the years either (just trucks and SUV's).

I get your point here. Hondas are pretty much "no frills" automobiles. I'm not that into cars, and I'm pretty much looking for an A-B device.

It's kinda like movies. Plenty of people like Michael Bay movies, but others find them stupid and predictable. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

Suburbs are fine. They're inexpensive, convenient, etc. They're just not for me. I don't like the maze of subdivision streets. I don't like the traffic. I don't like the architecture. It screams "comfort". I'm not comfort driven--I like things to be a bit interesting, even if they're inefficient.
