Wasn't sure if this should be in social or rant, but anyway, Montreal will not have a race next year, meaning F1 will no longer be in North America. The reason, once again, is money, since only nations ran by oil moguls can afford the ridiculous cost of having a race.

I'd rather watch a World of Outlaws sprint car race,that is exciting. F1 is boring with a capital B.

Boring is spending all day going in a circle while the governing body alters rules to create their own outcomes. There are 3 major sources of technology in this world: NASA, the military, and Formula 1.

Have you ever watched sprint cars? They don't need all that technology to go really fast,and they do it on dirt. F1 has so much technology now that it isn't even about the drivers anymore.

Drivers do make a difference, but as an engineer, I'm in complete awe of the technology and their methods of research and development, as a matter of fact I'm in the process of writing a technical paper on new CFD methods for AIAA and next year will be conducting research with a team of other students on vehicle aerodynamics using CFD as well as wind tunnel testing use pressure sensitive paint and actual track testing. I would like to do some material testing as well, which has become huge in F1. The Renault F1 team has a partnership with Boeing here in St. Louis where they are researching new materials.

I totally agree that the cars are amazing pieces of technology and scary fast. But the races are so boring,hardly any passing and are usually won in qualifying or in the pits. I love racing and will watch any kind,including F1,but dirt track racing will always be my favorite.
