I was shocked a week ago that the McCain camp was giving comments about how they'd dumbed down the format for Palin's sake, but now I get it. Anything short of uncontrollable nervous vomiting will be seen as a respectable showing since the expectations have been driven so impossibly low.cardsfansince82 wrote:I don't care what side of the aisle you are on. I'm in. I actually had to turn off the Couric interview and read the transcript.haltz wrote:I think it calls for flashchat. It is more correct than not, particularly given McCain's statement. Whether or not the bailout was a good idea, if House Republicans had voted in favor of a Republican Pres' plan in the same numbers, ie ratio, then it would have passed. Perhaps they made the correct call. Nonetheless given the above McCain is being disingenuous again.Leroy wrote:This isn't correct.GatewaySnayke wrote:But apparently, it was defeated because of House Republicans.

Listen to Barney Frank scream 'House Republicans', when 40% of his party voted no is not any better.lukethedrifter wrote:It is more correct than not, particularly given McCain's statement. ...but the McCain campaign is wrong in saying "Obama and the Democrats." WTF does Obama have to do with how House Democrats vote?Leroy wrote:Listen to Barney Frank scream 'House Republicans', when 40% of his party voted no is not any better.lukethedrifter wrote:It is more correct than not, particularly given McCain's statement. "not any better" is generally regarded as "just as bad," which typically acknowledges one's own faults.
