I don't care what side of the aisle you are on. The train wreck that is imminent in the vice presidential debate is going to be epic. I wish I could score tickets to see it in person.

I was shocked a week ago that the McCain camp was giving comments about how they'd dumbed down the format for Palin's sake, but now I get it. Anything short of uncontrollable nervous vomiting will be seen as a respectable showing since the expectations have been driven so impossibly low.

This isn't correct.

It is more correct than not, particularly given McCain's statement. Whether or not the bailout was a good idea, if House Republicans had voted in favor of a Republican Pres' plan in the same numbers, ie ratio, then it would have passed. Perhaps they made the correct call. Nonetheless given the above McCain is being disingenuous again.

"not any better" is generally regarded as "just as bad," which typically acknowledges one's own faults.
