I was shocked a week ago that the McCain camp was giving comments about how they'd dumbed down the format for Palin's sake, but now I get it. Anything short of uncontrollable nervous vomiting will be seen as a respectable showing since the expectations have been driven so impossibly low.

I think it calls for flashchat. I just hope it's not too painful to watch, like parts of the Couric interview.
I'm in. I actually had to turn off the Couric interview and read the transcript.

Don't the Dems hold House majority?

DEMOCRATIC - 140 - 95
REPUBLICAN - 65 - 133 - 1
TOTALS - 205 - 228 - 1

This isn't correct.
It is more correct than not, particularly given McCain's statement. Whether or not the bailout was a good idea, if House Republicans had voted in favor of a Republican Pres' plan in the same numbers, ie ratio, then it would have passed. Perhaps they made the correct call. Nonetheless given the above McCain is being disingenuous again.

New Rasmussen state polling is out. Highly, highly anticipated numbers:

Florida - Obama 47, McCain 47
Ohio - Obama 48, McCain 49
Pennsylvania - Obama 48, McCain 42
Colorado - Obama 49, McCain 48
Virginia - Obama 50, McCain 47

Listen to Barney Frank scream 'House Republicans', when 40% of his party voted no is not any better.

...but the McCain campaign is wrong in saying "Obama and the Democrats." WTF does Obama have to do with how House Democrats vote?

"not any better" is generally regarded as "just as bad," which typically acknowledges one's own faults.
